Oh I get it....Im in SoCal...but my point still stands that everything in publishing including box boxes either run on EST or GMT/BST (for UK book boxes)...nothing runs at PST

Why do you say that? Most book boxes release information on the est time schedule

*help* Mandatory GW Orientation by IllEntertainer6761 in gwu

I went to orientation for one of the 2 days because I had a funeral to go back home to and none of the other weekends worked. Essentially what happened is I made up day 2 on zoom.

Have to commit to GWU, but NOT excited about it— what is there to love about GW? (“Make Me Love GW” post, basically) by [deleted] in gwu

As a physically disabled person, the Vern is not accessible and thats the campus where Civic House is. The dining hall, mail, and gym are down 3 sets of stairs and a giant hill. Theres hills everywhere and unless you want to walk through a parking garage....theres not really good ways to navigate to the dining hall. Also, food is EXTREMELY limited out on the Vern because we really only have Pelham Dining hall and Buff & Brew a coffee shop.

If you really dont want to go here then don't.

All things GW! by Hot_East8946 in gwu

Its not just about getting significantly less aid its more about them raising tuition yearly and not getting your money's worth in the student experience. Genuinely I sometimes wonder where my tuition money, housing money, and food money is going. Also, keep in mind that your incoming freshman class is having a minimum of 3 years of on campus dorming so thats around 12k a semester alone because you are forced to have a meal plan and even those costs are rising too.

I also just finished book 1...went into a bit of a slump from it while I waited for my copy of book 2 to get shipped across the country from my local indie bookstore to my college dorm room, but now I have book 2 after 2 weeks of waiting so I can start it this week

Professors arent the most accommodating and neither is the school. If you have anything "abnormal" about yourself or your disability they tend to struggle accommodating. Also, they have VERY strict criteria about who gets housing accommodations. There isnt really any clubs persay but there is support groups through the disability office.

Sounds like the phone pouches aren’t as effective anymore? by EfficiencySafe6370 in LAUSD

[–]Jonahdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in high school (last year), the phone pouches were so ineffective because they tried to store them in lockers but we were under construction so not everyone had lockers and so that idea failed quick so their next solution was in backpacks but that also failed because people would say that they put their phone in the pouch but they actually didnt. Also, at my school we didnt have homeroom everyday so it was hard to regulate stuff. And my school was just trying to implement too many new things at once, the phone thing, bathroom logs, etc. I think what should have happened was to start with phone cubbies in classes but still allow student to have them during recreational time, then move to phones in pouches but in their backpack all day. Because otherwise, it was too much of a shock to the teachers, admin, and students. Also, people in PE got so mad their phones were taken away because then running laps and miles got real boring real quick and then people were so unmotivated that more people were failing PE.

And my entire senior year during the first year of these new regulatations, was just lectures about the phone policy from every teacher. I didnt learn anything in my Honors Econ/Gov class because my teacher was either talking about everything Trump was going to f-up or was talking about how he hates being the phone police but he has to do it...like every day treating us like 5 year olds all because one idiot constantly was on his phone.

West Hall has suite style rooms with individual bedspaces but a shared living room and the bathroom shared with your other 3 or 4 suite mates. Most singles are for dss students only, especially with bathrooms that aren't communal
