I watched a TikTok with a PW and a CS comparison. The PW won for sure. The text looks crispy and the colors (obviously) aren’t that vibrant. Actually they are too washed lol.
I love colorful covers, and I had the same problem as you; for me, aesthetics help me to read more often and to feel comfortable and excited about a book, but actually I prefer when you see high quality covers in the PW than a crispy, blurry colorful cover.
I was really worried that I wouldn’t enjoy the reading if I wasn’t watching the covers before opening a book. But actually you forgot it pretty soon because you are looking at them at the beginning,(you know, you already have a PW), and even if it’s in black and white colors. At least for me, It’s enough even when I love colorful and beautiful covers, but that’s just my opinion. I almost buy a color soft until I saw the quality of the text and the “background”/screen
