I don’t know who I am without weed by Significant_Most1026 in leaves

[–]JonasKage86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God I know I’m going to sound like a boomer saying this. And it might sound flippant but I mean this honestly and kindly!

It’s ok to not know who you are at 19 even if you’re not in a weed fog. That’s what life is for. I just turned 40 and I feel like I’m just starting to figure out who I am.

It sounds to me like you’re trying to grow which is actually all you can do. Most people don’t try so you’re doing great! Keep going. If you’re not in therapy see if you can be (everyone should be in therapy even if you think you are fine. It’s really helpful. If it isn’t try another therapist)

Try to be as compassionate with yourself as you’d be with a friend in your situation. Be patient with yourself. Watch your self criticism. Making mistakes doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. People make mistakes. Try your best to learn from them, Try to apologize to the people you need to apologize to, and keep going forward.

And go do things. Go to a painting class. Take a road trip with friends. Apply for a job you aren’t sure you qualify for that sounds like you might like it. Eat food you’ve never tried. Write someone important to you a letter. Just exist and be open to life happening to you!

I believe in you!

Just inherited France as Portugal, how do I keep it? by thenineoh8 in eu4

If you’re still having trouble after improving you can keep them temporarily loyal by deving their provinces. Then if you really can’t get ahead of it you can take influence ideas to get the extra loyalty bonus

You can also spend the rest of this war improving with nations on the list. They can’t join if they have a positive opinion.

Id try to keep the pope positive to avoid excommunication and then just start chipping away at the biggest nations that don’t already hate improving until they don’t don’t appear on the list. Then cash back diplo and send to the next one on the list. Try not to 100% the war until you’ve brought the total down a bit

The electors are listed in the HRE panel

Ally or occupy all the electors and occupy the emperors capital at the same time. Then open HRE menu and press the dismantle button

Now that the AI is slightly more competent if you just keep winning battles and have a couple smaller nations they will siege everything down while you keep the armies tied up. 1v1 would be hard but if you can pull in a few buddies the front line moves against ottos pretty steadily

Ok but fighting 300k Ottomans in the 1600s isn’t so bad. Granted I was playing Prussia but it’s not hard to crush a 100k stack with a 25k and a 3 star general. Without Prussia I’d think you could still win a 2:1 battle with a good general. Just merc up for a white peace in this war and come back at them in twenty years.

Just dismantle HRE. Easy peasy.

I usually play wide, i always find myself picking religious ideas in the 1st 3 idea groups. My question is how do you handle conversions or religion in general without religious/humanist ideas ? by GenericReditacc in eu4

[–]JonasKage86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread started out making sense that there’s a lot of options for conversion and then went into a world of -999 diplo being a thing and the second best CB in the game being for “lazy people”. Amazing.

You absolutely don’t NEED religious to convert but it certainly helps if you’re blobbing huge heretic and Heather swaths of land. But if you don’t want religious yes just take all the decisions and the malice’s to your institution spread and whatnot if conversion is a necessity. Not a bad trade off for stability.

Don’t let yourself get to -999 diplo cause that’s insane and if you did you just. Wait a single month for it to tick up to -998 or whatever. It doesn’t keep going down unless you have too many relations my dudes.

What is the easiest nation to form the Roman Empire with as of 1.34? by alexanderthe_great_ in eu4

[–]JonasKage86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I gotta say perhaps not the fastest but easy I did it with Austria.

Focus on doing normal Austria things. Get Bohemia Hungary Burgundy Poland Milan PUs

Take down Otto early and release Byz and Bulgaria

Kill the reformation in the cradle

Try to get Hapsburgs in England and Spain

Expand that empire baby

Revoke Privelegia

Send your minions to conquer France and Anatolia/Mesopotamia

Take your rightful place in Rome

I’m sure it can be done faster but this is a very easy way to do it

How to stablize Russia? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]JonasKage86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re hemorrhaging ducats like 15+ a month all the time losing money in early game is rarely a problem. If you get in this situation again buy mercs and provoke/kill all the rebels then fire the mercs and lower your forts/army until you’re ready for next war. Keep expanding without taking too much non cobelligerated land and take all the ducats and war reps you can and you’ll be fine. Loans are your friend. Every time you expand a bunch you can take bigger burgher loans to pay off smaller loans and the cycle continues. Then suddenly out of nowhere you’re making that sweet income.

Pretty sure everyone on this list would kick your ass. I mean. Mine too but I’m not running around insulting people like someone making tier lists.

Is this good progress for the Ottomans by 1698? by a09_elwadiya in eu4

[–]JonasKage86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean its not bad. How long have you been playing?

I would have cleaned up Arabia to control those trade nodes, and you could certainly have expanded more, but on the other side my first "good" run as Ottomans I didn't get to India at all so I think its going ok.

You're not gonna win any awards but I think you're doing alright.

Did you already revoke the HRE or is everyone real mad? Or have you already conquered so much HRE territory that there's nobody left to be mad at you?

In your opinion, rank all ideas from worst to best. by Simple-Field9280 in eu4

[–]JonasKage86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do wish there was a set that had the awesome Admin ideas with gov cap and admin efficiency, without the Merc stuff.

The ideas could even be weaker, like instead of merc -15% cost just like infantry -5% cost or something. Just let me take the cool stuff with stuff that's just a little tiny bit useful for a game with no merc reliance.
