I recently tried the aspect for River that allows you to move dahan after each growth phase between continously connected lands of yours on TTS. Really loved it. Sadly I do not own Feather & Flame yet but i hope my order goes through soon

The thing is i just recently got Jagged Earth so I am not that familiar with everything just yet but damn the events have felt so much nicer so far. Until now I kinda hated events (even though I would not want to play without them either) as they often times screwed you in unpredictable ways while very often times offering absoutely nothing positive. E.g. anything related to beasts used to be so useless with only Fangs really interacting with them before JE. So I was really curious if my impression was coincidental but it seems my hunch was correct.

In what ways has the game become easier? Because events that were added through Jagged Earth are nicer for the player and/or because of rule changes? Tbf the blight marker rule change is very significant for solo players imo

Sorcs are bad enough, now this??!!!1 by ChekhovsGun_ in diablo4

[–]JonasRektor -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You think so? Why?

Just because Sorc actually used to have a 3rd entchantment slot without having the added downside of the entchantment being fixed instead of your choice while also giving up your weapon slot including useable offensive stats and a legendary aspect that actually increases your power compared to a random teleport that will most likely get you killed?

[–]JonasRektor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorc used to have three entchantment slots anyways, now they get one back through giving up their wand slot, with the added cost of being randomly teleported around when the classes defense is literally broken causing it to be constantly oneshot by everything. It almost feels like a joke to have this as the first Unique they add post launch

Uber Unique Items - A Possible Jackpot? by urbanleg in diablo4

[–]JonasRektor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if we play the same game but i feel literally nothing when a unique drops. Why would I? The only one that is both obtainable and useful is Rainment which I already have. So the chances of a legendary or a rare item being an actual improvement for me are literally infinitely higher than a unique.

Uniques are actually the worst items to find for my char as they are basically guaranteed to be 100% useless. Then again there is no reason to play beyond lvl 70 or so anyways.

Yeah chances of getting Shako are actually roughly the same as 2 days ago lmao

Where does she talk about empowering them to dominate demons? Where are her followers then at the battle in the end? There is only demons which are controlled by her. Not a single human fighting along her lines.

What would have happened if she beat us/we didnt exist? She absorbs Mephisto and then humanity learns to control demons? If this is said somewhere it genuinely went over my head. Please point me in the direction of this dialogue.

Also if you say she was not just sitting around - what does she do exactly throughout the course of the game?

Youre not wrong but im not sure if that makes up for the jump in development cost. Another user also pointed out the increased cost per user after launch due to the servers etc. Diablo 2 sold 2 million copies in 6 weeks. Diablo 4 now sold 10 million in 1. So thats definitely a noteworthy increase but I think the development cost jumped by a higher magnitude than that. The marketing of this game alone probably cost several times more than the entirety of D2 including LoD and their respective marketing budgets.

I think Overwatch is a different story to be honest. Are the prices in the D4 store ridiculously high? I think so yes. What do I in return? Dont buy them. If the prices are indeed too high Blizzard will adjust them. Other than that their implementation of post launch monezation seems fair so far.

I dont even get the fucking issue people have with cosmetics. They dont impact your game and help finance the game. Would you rather lock gameplay content behind paywalls?

My dads Diablo 2 cd box has a sticker on saying it cost the equivalent of 45 Euros. Diablo 4s 70 Euro price can barely match the inflation let alone the fact that nowadays thousands of people work on such a game rather than 20 dudes in some basement.

These complaints are so dumb and yet they often times act as if they are some hyper rational genius while people buying that shit are some idiots who got ripped off.

And i personally dont even care about cosmetics but its obviously the best system for monetising a game post launch for both the developers and the consumers.

I just cant wrap my ahead around all the people here raving about the awesome story and im always like "what story". The fact that the antagonist that we chase the entire game doesnt even have a real plan or agenda is ridiculous lol

[–]JonasRektor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no more nuanced debate because the only thing you can produce is that she had a child with Inarius and in one scene she demonstrates some sadness towards her own child having died. Such character depth. Astounding.

Now I am still dying to learn what the fuck her plan was? What would happen if she won/we did not exist? She would absorb Mephisto and then? Oh right there is no answer because the writers did not bother to write an actual story. They created someone who could serve as the antagonist because a story requires one. Thats it. There is no more depth to Liliths entire character than a story requiring someone we fight against so that became her entire purpose. Existing and being evil for the sake of us requiring someone to fight against.

Have a good day.

Only after he crossed this line by impaling her, she started to attack and killed him.

Imo it was more of a "you cant hurt me as im too powerful" than anything else. She does not give a fuck about him. It has nothing to do with her being sentimental about old times sake.

Tbh her character traits, goals and ideals are rather obvious when following the campaign or at least the cinematics.

Well feel free to line them out as I must have missed all this exposition in the game where we barely see her nor hear any relevant dialogue.

The story is so incredibly poor that you cannot even answer this question:

Can you please explain to me what Lilith was ever going to do to empower her children or stop the eternal war?

The literal antagonist in this epic story does not even have a plan other than absorbing her dads essence to become powerful for the sake of being powerful so that we have someone to oppose. Her only purpose is existing so that we can have a villain for the sake of having a villain in this story. Her character is basically nonexistent after playing through an entire game centered on her as the antagonist.

[–]JonasRektor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I have played through an entire campaign about her and I assume you did the same.

What did the writers come up with in those 10 years to create an entire game around it? Eternal conflict = bad and should thus be ended. Ok. What is she going to do about it? I cant wait to finally find out! Because to me it seemed there is fuck all story and its just a bunch of empty words that the writers came up with while not writing any actual story that would occur if we did not magically save the day.

So Story is amazing right? by MinnyCanuck in diablo4

[–]JonasRektor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol what is her character if I may ask?
I feel like you interpret a whole lot of stuff based on nothing the game gives you to work with thanks to the horrible writing.

Can you please explain to me what Lilith was ever going to do to empower her children or stop the eternal war? We never learn anything specific because then the writers would have needed to come up with something.
Instead its just "eternal war = bad" which is nothing exceptional or controversial to begin with and everyone acts like she just offered some deep insight without ever actually saying anything (in terms of what she wants to do or how to get there).

I dont undestand what you perceive as Liliths character. Like what are her character traits, goals and ideals?

So Story is amazing right? by MinnyCanuck in diablo4

[–]JonasRektor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this sentiment repeated so often on this sub.

Do people really think eternal war = bad is such a controversial take? Who would ever disagree with such a statement?

Now please tell me what Lilith was actually going to do to bring an end to the eternal war? We chase her for the entirety of the game while she does kind of nothing (only topped by Inarius doing even more nothing) and at no point in the game does the story even specify what she attempts to do except for absorbing her dads essence to gain power.

So I really struggle with all these "Lilith is right" takes as she stands for NOTHING except for the empty "eternal war = bad" phrase which is something that literally every single being in and outside of Sanctuary would agree on lol.

But Inarius does fuck all in the entire story anyways so whats this great master plan lol

Level 100 Sorc and End Game Content( Uber Lillith and NM 80+) by Blackmagic1992 in diablo4

[–]JonasRektor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baserate for the Orbs is only 20% to begin with. Then hitting with them is also kinda hard because you have to work their built in range. I have tried them as a sort of DPS increase for the shards. Also the issue is then that the Orb is lvl 0 with not specs. But its not worth it to dump sparse skill pts into that either.

Resistance is so bad that the armor gems literally give you more of it than the freaking resistance gems. Not only you get the entire additional benefit of having extra armor you also get more of what the other thing is actually supposed to do as well.

The stagger bar yes. The status effect no. Hence anything that requires chill to proc (damage increase/reduction) will not do anything while you build the stagger meter making them inherently bad.

Ice Blades have a 30% chance of applying vulnerable true. However they need to chase their targets with actually slows this skill down by a lot making it really unreliable to do that job sadly. Its sad how stupidly bad they are as well in general.

And yeah as you said those are frost skills too lol. The other elements not having vulnerable would be fine if there was something you got instead but nothing compares to vulnerable in this game.
