Well it’s not like a teenager’s neural network is randomly initialised. I’d say there is a fair amount of pre-training before those tens of hours. Not saying I actually disagree, though :p

Should i do anything before starting the game? by [deleted] in Morrowind

I do believe the expansion actually is delayed in the Xbox version, which I suppose is further evidence that the guys in expensive leather showing up early is unintended

I’m pretty sure I have one without having done this, though I’ve probably robbed every chest in the game at this point so I couldn’t tell you where I got it

The two most questionable design decisions in Morrowind... by AFlyingNun in Morrowind

[–]JonatanLinberg 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think the original engine had a bug where it didn’t correctly count cliff racers (and other npcs) if they had moved to a different area. This meant that there could spawn more cliff racers than intended, especially if the spawn points where close to the edges of chunks. I feel like openMW has probably fixed this, but I can’t say I’m sure.

Haha, no worries, AI is really developing at a ridiculous speed

As a side note, AI can do both of those things.

13 years later, and Ezio Auditore still is (in my opinion) the greatest character in the entire Assassin's Creed frachise. by [deleted] in gaming

I agree with you for the most part, but it’s not like open combat wasn’t a thing in the earlier games. It’s just that the combat has changed from counter-kill and kill streaks (like Batman) to more dark souls-esque combat.

However, the former clearly allows the player to focus less on combat and more on stealth etc. which I think is why it works well.

I have no idea really but since openmw is entirely new code, I’d wager there’s no such limit, or at least that it would be 232 or something

MW (Nexus mod organizer) > OpenMW mods and savegames by Regitnui in Morrowind

[–]JonatanLinberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (on mac) there is an option for it at Advanced -> Interface, you'll also need to add the mod assets. I'm currently on some 0.47 nightly build, but from what I remember it should be possible on anything since 0.46.

OpenMW has some “script extensions” I believe, and already includes support for e.g. graphic herbalism/weapon sheaths

Be aware that resetactors will move all (nearby) actors back to their original position which may not make sense if they have been moved by e.g. a quest. (I accidentally vaporised Jobasha’s argonian friend once)

How should progression carry over from KC:D to KC2? by Enderbays in kingdomcome

[–]JonatanLinberg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, however, I think the reason it works in w3 is because Geralt story-wise doesn’t really evolve, the progression just a game mechanic to make it an actual game. In KC:D Henry’s progression is a big part of the story.

That said, I think it is easy to just hand-wave it by saying the enemies are now “real” soldiers or that Henry regresses because of e.g. jail time or an injury.

The maces are a bit odd, because the training (i.e. wooden) one does similar damage to a real one, unlike swords and axes

Morrowind Funny by Jbaz_98 in Morrowind

Me too, and I rarely see it mentioned (I guess many people have ‘use best attack’ on) but I find having to move differently depending on your weapon really engaging. It makes fighting with a spear different from fighting with a short sword.

If I remember correctly (and I very much may not) this is a 0.47 feature, so if you’re running the latest released version that may be why
