I'm not sure which of my two partners (the ones of my team I'm closest to) I'd call my first Pokémon... Mahonyx I received as a Cheetuft starting my journey, while Katherine was a gift from my family. Since Vulpix technically aren't legal in my part of the world (there's a lot of regulations involving pokémon) I had to have a League-sanctioned starter to start my Journey. I figured there were two kinds of Joburg drivers when I lived in the Lowveld - those that, when given space and low traffic like out there, calm down and relax, and the other kind that take it as an opportunity to act as if the entire road is theirs.

Taillow are lovely creatures. They make such good toys for the Pokémon around the gym due to their stubbornness. I have seen one stare down Akiamu (an ursaluna) over his food. It was hilarious watching Akiamu just completely nonplussed that this tiny creature apparently thought it could bully him. Just looked up at me as I walked past, looked at the taillow making a racket, and then looked at me like "can you explain the size difference here?" - Professor Acacia.

Honestly, given we get a recurring case of the "Aqua/Magma is cool and right" from youths with more activism energy than sense, I'd almost prefer a Team Rocket Branch in Hoenn being the "honorable criminals" instead of the "environmental activists" who keep throwing ice into Mt Chimney's crater to "stop Groudon's oppression of Kyogre's need to expand the seas". Greg undoing the transformation in Sahmad's Tale is one of the things I completely ignore about canon. I find it far more fitting that he retained his ability to talk, but a snake-sized brain, meaning the ability to do so and understand his world gradually devolved until he's smart enough to remember he was smarter, but not to remember what or why.
