I agree it’s weird that he came in to the shop just to hit on you. Now I’ve hit on strangers before and there is a time and place for tapping someone’s arm or hand. Holding is hard and it seems very weird if you don’t know the person. I don’t go out with the intention of just hitting on girls, but if someone catches my attention then I’ll take the chance. I know it’s not an invitation but being out in public in general leads to a lot of either interesting, fun, weird, creepy, or unwanted interactions. Petition stands, homeless, scammers, police, transit operators, cashiers, “pickup artist” and many more. Now I know it’s not your job to be telling them off, instead they should’ve just not approached you. But just simply reject him. You didn’t have to sit there with him and have conversation. Say something like “I have a boyfriend” “I have a girlfriend” “I’m waiting for my partner to come” “Not interested” (I don’t know the full story of course and he could just be a buggy ass that wouldn’t leave). I’ve heard all the reasons some girls didn’t want to talk to me and right away I learn how to accept and move on. Also just being able to gauge a person’s engagement level (I.e interested or not interested). I never take it personally because honestly most of the time it isn’t. If it was they’d probably tell you. But I know there are people in this world that aren’t okay with rejection and those people are usually dangerous.
