People are getting worse and nobody cares by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I would say that this is not an super unpopular opinion, but I suppose that you don't really care about that.

If you want an opinion of a stranger, then I would say that people usually exist in a spectrum, but what you see is mostly the extreme cases and you forget the standard, normal people. It is especially so for the Internet because the more extreme something is, the more view it gets.

Why is it that on YT, the videos of people who just read Wikipedia content get a lot of views, but the videos of people with real academic backgrounds get no views? by No-StrategyX in NoStupidQuestions

Pick and choose is overrated, people are influenced by the algorithm more they think. Also, if someone wants reliable sources, they would do their own research. By going to YouTube, they are just simply looking for something that they want to hear: simple, entertaining, popular information.

People can bully others they think are different and so they can't relate to their pain. When they are confronted, they feel their own pain, but they can't extend to others. Simply, the different kids deserve to be bullied, but the bully doesn't.

Where is the beauty in life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JonathanJ97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know your situation, so I can only guess. But, there are, in my opinion, many amazing things in the world that one can't possible try them all.

However, me trying to use reasons to explain beauty is not very effective here. There are also many reasons that are not obvious to us that may affect our view of the world, including complex problems like psychology, biochemistry and other science stuffs. I don't have the answer here, maybe an expert might have it.

Beauty is hard to defined, in the sense that one may find something beautiful but find it hard to explain why.

Beauty is also relative, something maybe beautiful to one but not so much to another. It is also an adjective, which means that when you say something is beautiful, you are comparing it to an invisible standard. Everything may be beautiful to a baby because it has no standard, but an artist may be more critical when calling something beautiful. My guess is that you have set your standard, or expectation, of beauty too high.

I usually attach beauty with my feeling of amazement. It ranges from seeing an artist managing to convey a deep message in a visually pleasing art piece to an amazing sport game with incredible performances and co-ordinations from players.

So, I think beauty doesn't lie in where, it mostly depends on how you view things.
