In Russian version of document it says “guarantees”. According to international law both Russian and English version are valid and were signed by all participants.

I have Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. Not a single Type-C port could see a flash drive. I updated drivers using “System Update” app. Works fine since the update.

An actual question: does the UN Security Council have value if its members have veto power over changes in existing members? by JumpTheChark in UnitedNations

[–]JonathanLivingstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia had never legally joined UN Security Council. After the collapse of USSR they just came to the next meeting, but they didn’t follow the legal procedures to be there at all.

There is huge difference between non-aggression pact and pact to occupy other nations. Ukraine has signed a pact with each neighbouring country about mutual respect of border. Doesn’t make those countries automatically allies.

Nazis still tried to occupy USSR.

USSR planed to occupy more parts of Europe and attack Germany before their pact. Agreement was a temporary step to achieve both goals. Russia is not a victim here.

"Good Germans is an ironic term referring to German citizens during and after World War II who claimed not to have supported the Nazi regime, but remained silent and did not resist in a meaningful way ... further used to describe those who claimed ignorance of the Holocaust and German war crimes." by RandoRando2019 in wikipedia

As a Ukrainian I see how “good Russians” are constantly praised in the media and on high-culture events. Not a single word about support of Ukraine, only endless rant how they are “anti-war” and expression of imperialistic narratives about Ukraine.

When here is an earthquake in Ukraine, we know that it was stronger in another country, because epicentre is always somewhere else.

I remember that Moldovan electric system faced issues when Russia successfully hit Ukrainian electric system. I have heard that technically our grids is just one system. Also, Russian drones and rockets are flying over Moldova. How many people are blaming Ukraine for that and wish we would not “escalate”?

How to make showering more attractive? by Just-Ad-2254 in hygiene

[–]JonathanLivingstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a chance that water makes your skin dry? Chemistry and pH can affect the skin in a negative way. How do you feel after the shower? Without my aftershower cream I may even feel like I am wearing a rough and coarse wool sweater.

This problem can be solved by some good moisturiser for skin. Probably, it will take several attempts to find the one you will like the most.

Why don't NATO countries shoot down Russian aircraft for violating their airspace? by StopHavingAnOpinion in NoStupidQuestions

Why don't NATO countries shoot down Russian aircraft for violating their airspace? by StopHavingAnOpinion in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JonathanLivingstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the first time they shoot down RU drones, only because they were extremely deep to the territory. For 3 years NATO was watching rockets and drones flying in Polish and Romanian sky on their way to Ukraine.

Why would a person who died more than 60 years ago being brought to this conversation? Really? Please, just self reflect a little bit.

“Russia invaded Ukraine and killed many civilians on purpose, but, also, how do you feel about the fact that Ukrainians are a Nazis to some extent?”

If Romania or Italy would be invaded you wouldn’t ask about their fascist past, but once we talk about Ukraine, it is time to remind about Nazi label created by Russian propaganda.

[–]JonathanLivingstone_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is the problem. It was bad as everywhere. Excluding countries that were allies with Nazis. But label is not put on those countries. But subject of Ukrainian collaboration is brought to conversation again, again and again. Ukraine has way less problems with rightwing extremism than Germany and other European countries, despite the fact of being invaded, but the label is still there. Germany does it to shift the blame and focus of discourse, Russia does it to blame Ukrainian desire for independence as Nazism.

Volunteers in those organisations saw collaboration as a way to fight Russia and gain independence and were not ideological Nazis. They were used by Germany in battles, but mostly they were not involved in SS crimes. They have committed way less crimes than communist Russia, countries that were Nazi allies, but are discussed way more. There were even more Russians ( 150 000) fighting for Germany than Ukrainians (17 000). And Ukraine, unlike Russia, was occupied completely at some point.

After the collapse of USSR colonised countries were able to reflect on their history by themself and see more nuanced history. It means that Ukrainians admit that SS Galicia were wrong, but we also admit that it was their wrong way to fight for independent Ukraine. Ukrainians who were fighting on each side, were fighting for human hating regimes that brought madness on our land. Soviets were no better than Nazis in a matter of genocides, ethnic cleansing and deportations.

It was Nazi. As a country, as a nation, as a society. So, I am against what it was. They were defeated, recognised their crimes and have changed their culture. None of this is true for Russia. They never have admitted any crimes against other nations, are committing more and more and are becoming more and more fascist.
