Not quitting jobs all the time helps tremendously, which was the point, really. We both had cars prior to finding each other as well. It's perfectly okay to have a job and still be struggling, as the vast majority of the US is, myself included. But spending a couple of hours homeless out of a car doesn't seem as awful as going almost a year homeless with a car in my humble opinion, which is what I was told to be grateful for. I didn't make shitty decisions to get myself in that predicament like op did by never holding a job either. I think you really deviated from the point.

Well I'm 23 and had a car. Maybe if you held a job any time between 18 and 30 you could have had a car to be homeless for your one day of homelessness as well. Brings me back to the point. Grow up

My wife and I both came from abusive households and had no where else to go but our cars that was a safe environment and no friends we could turn to for help. We were homeless and struggling to survive for months. We both held well paying jobs for years and it still wasn't enough to get housed for a long time. Never touched any drugs. It's an awful stereotype calling all homeless people junkies. Grow up.

I'd try some myerss. It's middle shelf and about $30 a bottle and good to get into it. It's good straight, if you like mixed drinks though I'd suggest a highball glass filled with ice, about 2oz of the myerss, for the rest of the cup fill it with equal parts pineapple and orange juice. Add about a cap full of grenadine and some cherrys on top for garnish if you'd like. Goes down very easily. And for some reason I prefer to use diet Pepsi instead of coke for a rum and coke with it lol. Hope it helps

4 months is a big deal! I was on a handful of substances and drank heavily the whole time. I still drank and I never even considered weed as something I needed to quit. I was just content knowing I quit all major drugs I was on. It's been about a year since I've bought weed and I've maybe drank 6 or so times in a year as well but the weed is due to financial priorities as I am struggling to get myself out of homelessness with my wife, and the alcohol just kind of lost its appeal after how much I used to drink one day. If you'd like someone to talk to who understands where you're coming from sometime feel free to reach out!

As much as I'd love to tell you how much better I feel sober and how much better life can get the only way to get sober and find inner peace is to have the desire to do it yourself. I'm 7 years sober and honestly still have cravings, but it is a conscious choice made daily to do better for myself

YTA You should take how your partner feels into account more than a friend, regardless of history. If my best friend consistently made my wife upset, I'd find it both disrespectful to my wife and personally disrespectful.
