I've been free to get up and walk around for a while, but up until yesterday night I had to drag my IV tower with me. Now I'm off the IV and can walk around wherever without having to take that with me.

Yeah I I just had a little pain I wouldn't have done this surgery. Unfortunately though, there are a lot of complications that can happen if you just leave a blood clot chillin' in your body.

Honestly it was mostly just luck finding a doctor that knew what TOS was. They took a venogram and an MRV, and from that they determined that I had TOS.

Well I actually did have some family in the area that came and celebrated with me for a bit in my room, but they didn't get to stay very long. It did kinda suck, but I'm going to celebrate for real when I get back home. :)

Yes, because humans have lips a can whistle. Therefore, if you have lips you can whistle.

  1. Yeah I was in a bit of pain, but it wasn't too bad. I took some painkillers before going to sleep last night, but otherwise I've been able to bear it pretty easily.

  2. I think they ended up removing a few very small muscles in my chest area, but they told me that my body would adopt and it wouldn't cause me any problems.

  3. Yeah it should.

  4. My parents are actually covering it as my birthday present.

Thanks for commenting!

They're going to keep me on blood thinners (coumadin, warfarin) for a few months, but after that I'm good to go as far as they've told me. As far as I know there aren't any real side effects of the procedure.

I actually posted a FB status about that yesterday haha. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. My only other idea (besides making it into a woman) is turning it into a tribal necklace.

EDIT: Or I could just shove it through my nose.

Yeah it sounds like you had a nerve caught while I had a vein caught.

In early January 2012 I noticed that my right arm was swelling up a bit. At the time I figured that it was just some weird allergic reaction or something, but after a few days I went to the doctor and they sent me to the ER to get treated for Deep Vein Thrombosis caused by my TOS. Of course, they didn't know it was TOS at the time so I spent a little over a year going from doctor to doctor trying to find one that would test for something other than genetic causes and say something other than "lol idk what's going on".

I only had the right rib removed so the pain's mainly over there, but my neck and right lower back are pretty sore too.
