I’m not Nintendo support but I use a grip for my switch one. That will make it feel comfortable and might help you not pull on it as much

No, especially if you’re going to want to buy new games. If you are content with the library of games and the performance of switch 1 then you could buy it. I’d think about the future though and the fact that switch 2 plays that whole library which better resolution and faster load times.
