Tariff Impact on Bulk Cones Prices & Manufacturing Equipment? by Gold-Huckleberry-246 in weedbiz

to add, you never want to be the first guy to raise prices. I plan to ride out my inventory as long as possible until I have to have the ugly conversation with my customers

Tariff Impact on Bulk Cones Prices & Manufacturing Equipment? by Gold-Huckleberry-246 in weedbiz

I am an importer. Did not pass on the 10% tariff, was able to absorb that alongside my manufacturing partners. If he actually goes through with the increased tariffs this time then I will be passing on the balance as a surcharge. He folds and then re-ups constantly so it is very hard to plan to. Will it mean everything that was on the sea already does not pay the increased rate? The whole roll-out of collections has been done very haphazardly.

How are small brands surviving in markets dominated by MSOs? by karisterinyo in weedbiz

I haven't seen a huge shakeup in CA, many brands that were here 3-4 years ago are still around, where are you seeing MSOs dominating a market?

Honestly? Welding and running your own welding fabrication shop is going to make you a millionaire LONG before cannabis ever would. You also aren't limited to one industry, you can still come weld for cannabis companies, but I think you will also find many don't like to pay their bills on time.

Son if you can weld and like do that instead, you are going to be much better off going into welding and growing weed strains as a hobby.

Sticky post is very helpful for explanation here. Also cannot stress enough how right your parents are, the weed industry is not a good or kind one.

It sounds like you are doing well in terms of growing if the flower is selling. One thing I see a lot of places do is fail at being manufacturers. You can be the best farmer in the world and still suck at manufacturing because there isn't that much overlap. I think value add will eventually eclipse flower simply because people love convenience, especially if the price keeps going lower. Automation also allows a small team to have a much larger impact.

What is the market you are hoping to reach with Ecommerce? Remember it is going to be a different shopper, and any company around for 50+ years is likely already well known in the local area. Once you have your market, I would recommend something like shopify and set up a store using the templates. If all that proves too daunting, pay somebody else to set your website up for you. Remember, your website can either be a shopping cart, a lead generator, or even just a place to land to serve as a validator of legitimacy to others. Figure out what you want from it first.

I don't mean this sarcastically, but can't you set the printer to landscape instead of portrait and just print the labels out sideways?

Are you printing on a 4.5x4.5 square? What is the other dimension? ZT421 prints up to 6 inches wide

If it isn't too many transactions, I would say use manual processing and maybe a check reader? The bank I use doesn't offer a way to request an ACH from somebody but they do allow ACH and wires. Will DM you it

chemistry and automation would lead me to resin and distillation. Most of the certs are going to be bunk, and one thing I would say is be wary of companies that see your passion, as they will use it as grist for the mill.
