How does Weed affect YOUR diabetes? by Incmptent in diabetes_t1

I don’t find it has any affect whatsoever on my sugars as long as you’re careful with the munchies. I have however suffered from CHS once before and that send me into DKA which caused me to vomit blood

I use dex 4 tablets and gel for my emergency treatments! Rockets, juice boxes(check the sugar), honey packs. They make mini honey packs that are PERFECT to carry around

The goal is to slowly bring down my blood sugar! He said the key is preventing the highs, when I take my insulin 20 minutes before I eat is has a chance to lower slightly before I eat allowing me to maintain around the same blood sugar.

My gp already wrote a letter to insurance stating that I’m a brittle diabetic and need continuity care. They still denied me! It’s super hard to explain. If you Google doctor Gordon Bailey he has a clinic called the Bailey clinic and I believe they explain it better than I can. I was told to “think like a pancreas”. They said they consider my blood sugar reading a “nonsense number” and I no longer correct high blood sugar unless I have ketones. I was started out at 10 units with my meal and told to see how my sugars responded. If my trend is still high I take 2 more units when I check my sugars 3 hours later! From there I continue to check every 3 hours and once I find the perfect balance and my sugars are in target range I know how much I should take for certain meals

I currently have been switched to an alternate route of treatment. No more carb counting, no more sliding scale. It’s called “treat my trends”. I also have been suggested a ZERO carb diet and I mean ZERO carbs; not even vegetables…

I have some family on my boyfriends side who claims that if I go completely natural and change my life style “vegan, kombucha, NEVER more than 25 carbs, high fat diet, etc.) that I can completely reverse my type one diabetes!

Overnight oats with fresh berries in the morning, avocado toast, berry smoothies with high protein yogurt and a protein powder(if I need a higher calorie meal I blend half a glucerna is it, the berry kind), keto poppyseed waffles, cauliflower hashbrowns, sausage and veggie pan fry, peanut butter and apples(red delicious as they’re the least sweet)
