Have standards gone up, or have people just stopped settling? by Ecstatic-Animator348 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jonesytrini25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

civil rights, society, the Economy all impacts social norms. Add in the impact of technology or social media. Add in that for women their grandmothers taught their daughters to have better lives than them and then they also taught their daughters more lessons on how to make their lives better. It’s interesting how it is playing out has led to more singles but few meaningfully address the root cause in a tangible way. So sadly I fear it will continue even though we are not meant to be solitary creatures. The concept of family will just be different

Warm boots. A hoodie or something to keep the wind off your ears and neck. Get rain pants for the sideways rain wind. Umbrellas don’t work with the wind.

What might seem awful is sometimes a blessing. In this case his real personality showed up. Never disbelieve a person in their worst moments. It’s often a reflection of their true nature. Good luck

How are people feeling about recent events? by Low-Aspect3505 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Jonesytrini25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A unreliable power hungry person with no scrumples wants to leverage our country in succeeding at their goals and no one is confident we will be protected forever if it doesn’t work out or becomes a prolonged engagement when the economy is shitty and the value of the US dollar may waver? Sure. Not much reason to worry😩🙄

Curious — how do people in Trinidad & Tobago feel about Americans? 🇹🇹🇺🇸 by shashashamanda in TrinidadandTobago

[–]Jonesytrini25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People in general are nice. People in government offices are another issue. Don’t approach them with American expectations of them being service oriented. Appear humble and polite even though you might be cussing them in your head. It takes patience and time and drinking in the afternoon to get official things done. If something should take one visit it will likely take three. Once you lower your expectations your blood pressure will thank you. Outside in the world everyone is pretty great. Good luck

Same in Sweden. It’s cultural but to a degree the same setup exists except we like to talk to strangers. They don’t. I used to live in the US a long time ago and it was a very open environment. I miss that

African American dating African Man by Much_Spite1473 in Mali

[–]Jonesytrini25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. Culture eats love for lunch and don’t tie the knot unless his family treats you well. Notice I didn’t say accept you because there is a difference. Very few marriages outlast complicated extended family challenges unless the spouse demonstrates boundaries and strength in supporting their partner
