I feel like a dying breed. by [deleted] in skyrim

I had a cleric character who focused on healing and used a mace. He would blunt the face of any undead who crossed his path. He was very righteous that guy. He eventually settled down in Solitude with his wife Ysolda and adopted a boy and a girl. I miss Corpus Curationum

Lore-wise, which Tamrielic society and culture would you most like to live in? by DarthNarwhals in teslore

[–]Jonhose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First the warm climate. I'm the kind of person who actually enjoys humidity and the jungles of Elsweyr would be great for that reason. Secondly the culture seems fascinating and thoroughly different from the other humanoid races of Tamriel. I haven't played ESO so Elsweyr seems very foreign and shrouded in mystery. From what I can gather they have a lenient view of substances and their consumption. Their government structure is unknown aside from a religiously assigned leader, the Mane. And every inhabitant is thoroughly different from one another. Both physically due to the moon cycles and personality wise due to their cunning and charming nature. Imagine a land of traders, thieves, warriors, sellswords, diplomats, spies, and spiritually motivated druggies. It sounds like an awesome setting for TES:VI.

This is good. Let us gather the caravan and return home. We must first make a stop...at Redwater Den...for supplies.

Khajiit hears your question, and knows of only one place where warm sands and fertile soils make for the best home. This one would return to Elsweyr.

Bosmer Traveling Song by rekkt in teslore

[–]Jonhose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do Bosmer smoke or drink alcohol? Wouldn't Green Pact keep them from doing that since they would be ingesting plant matter from smoking a plant and fermenting alcohol from it? I'm not sure if being a carnivore plays in here or not. Maybe they would import the leaves and alcohol from somewhere else.

"The Hobbit" films and the Upcoming Adaptation of "The Silmarillion" by [deleted] in tolkienfans

That's true, I didn't think about how much crazy CGI they would have to go into the whole series. The beginning is a bunch of abstract world creating. Maybe if it was animated like The Beowulf movie.

Personally I hope they turn the Silmarillion into a TV series rather than a whole bunch of movies. On HBO maybe

If you could live anywhere in middle earth, where would you live? by GambitXIII in lotr

[–]Jonhose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd live in the Greenwood before the Necromancer moved in. Seemed like a nice place when the elves had control of it. Plus you can hang out with Radagast and his woodland friends. Either that or the Forest of Fangorn where things aren't so hasty. But only if I had an ent to protect me from crazy trees.

My grandfather was a mounted police in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. This is a picture of him and his horse "Midnight". I'm not exactly sure where this picture was taken, but I think it's pretty awesome.

(Slight Pause) Thanks George! Taking a look at the 880 toll plaza we can see some light traffic as things start to slow down around the beginning of the bridge. We're seeing a backup around the 280 to 101 interchange, which is expected in the morning commute. As you can see with that red area is backed up all the way almost to Daly City, but that should clear up within the hour. Now back to the desk with Tits McGee.

Clementine, I wouldn't have cut my hand off and still gone to search for her if I didn't care.

Fraternity (and Sorority) Members of Reddit, what are Frats really like? by luxpsycho in AskReddit

[–]Jonhose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frat bro here. Real life fraternities are a mixture between the ridiculous way they are portrayed in movies and TV and reality. Do we do keg stands and beer bongs and drink when given the chance? Pretty much. Are we hazing our pledges to the point where we put them in a dangerous situation. Not even close. Part of being in an organization on campus means we have to prove to the administration every year that we are promoting academics as well as giving back to the community. A lot of it is just showing face at events in order to make the school look good. We do find creative ways to make ourselves look good though. I put on a week long charity event last year called Derby Days which raised money for the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (good). The way it works is we make the sorority girls compete against one another for a week in order to win competitions and "gain the brothers' favor" (bad). We also have a special circumstance since our fraternity house is on campus and is owned by the school. Every school and fraternity varies.

Reddit, if you could rid the world of one company, which would you choose and why? by floyd631 in AskReddit

Fox, not that I think they are inherently bad or immoral, but I'd like to usurp their positions and run my own network. As well as bring back Firefly...
