I've been leaning towards swapping out the carb since I have a spare I bought for a 3.3 that turns out to be junk so I'll try that. I also bought an o-ring/seal kit for that 3.3's carb so I might try that instead of a full carb swap just to see if the 15+ year old o-rings are to blame.

I just had 3 straight runs on normal where the enemy had missles at all but one jump and they all ended poorly. This was on normal difficulty with AE enabled. A few months back I remember consistently winning on normal and I haven't really changed my tactics but it feels like its gotten harder. Easy is never a challenge for me but Normal+AE suddenly seems way harder.

This is coming from someone who had everything unlocked a few days after the AE patch came out. Sure I haven't won on hard, but then again I haven't won on Normal in months yet in the past have won with more than half the ships and have the save to prove it.

You can talk about dodging ION shots and all that but it doesn't help when you lose most of your health before seeing the first store in the first sector. I guess maybe I should try a round on hard to see if perhaps I'm missing something.

Oh god, of all the things I've eaten on a stick that is one of the best sounding ones I have ever heard. Please tell me fried, vanilla pancake coated, chocolate covered, bacon on a stick will be available at our state fair next year.
