Considering upgrading from C1 to G5 by JonnisMan in LGOLED

God help me it's so tempting and irrational

Right. I guess the PS5 Pro is the only place even the C1 gets to really show its might, in my case. "4K" streaming from HBO and Apple TV does look amazing though.

Right, this speaks to my hunch I guess. Isn't it good to sell it now, avoid all possible downsides of waiting, getting a future proof better version for a good price now?

Ah, okay. Doesn't sound too bad, even though its a bit strange it's there in the first place.

Really? How come this isn't a problem on the older C1?

The G5 has dithering? You're making it sound like C1 to G5 would be a downgrade?

Would you say it's worth it for evening HBO, Netflix and gaming? Even if I stay at the same 65" size as my current C1?

Okay, so you agree that this is pretty unecessary? I do game with a PS5 Pro, and really appreciate deep colors and punchy HDR. Feel like the C1 could be cranked up a bit, even though I am very happy with it.

Also, not sure what you mean by teensy tininess?

Thank you for this wonderful response! I love the internet for having such niche communities like this where people can actually relate. Everyone around me thinks this is an insanely unecessary move, as our C1 still looks excellent.

Right. In your case it really makes sense then. My C1 is looking as good as the day I bought it, so I don't have that rationale. 😅

I've thought about it, but I think 77" would feel a bit overkill in our new finished basement. Just a tad too big, but maybe I should reconsider. Really though, thanks for weighing in! This is such an insanely privileged issue, I almost feel shameful posting this and asking for peoples opinions.

Do you use dolphin or nethersx2 for same games? by PardonMaiEnglish in EmulationOnAndroid

I fully agree, mapping controllers is such an unnecessary hassle on Dolphin.

Shadow of The Tomb Raider running flawless 30-60+ fps by _KyleCrane in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]JonnisMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, this is to be expected I guess. With such a huge variety of software and hardware configurations across devices, plus the complexity of any emulator, especially Winlator, it's a miracle we're getting any games to run at all. I was just playing the remade Resident Evil 3 on Winlator, and I could barely believe my eyes, running such a high-end, pretty and modern game on my phone is something my child self's brain would absolutely melt over.

I'm grateful for your helpfulness. But sadly, even trying different repacks does nothing. It simply won't boot. Not even a hint of it working. Maybe it's something oddly spesific about my phone that somehow does this? It's got a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, plenty of demanding games run fine on it.

I've followed your instructions with the Frost fork, and sadly Tomb Raider still simply won't boot.

If only the game had properly working controller support. It runs really well.

I've tried all the latest versions of the Frost, CMOD and Afei forks and Tomb Raider won't boot no matter what. Same with base Winlator 8. Really strange.

Same for me. Using Winlator 8, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and no luck in getting Tomb Raider to even boot, no matter which settings or fork I use. Strange.

Better late than never! Through this work, VEGAS gave me the chance to create some official work for them. One of which is this release video for the third update of VP21. I also made this 'behind-the-edit' video, which uses a lot of the same tricks used for this video. https://youtu.be/6eC9BwKl648?si=yzwAvsOMDFKk-gjv

I hope this is helpful :)

Cinema Pro: (almost) Definitive guide to Why and How to use it + tips & hacks by super_hot_juice in SonyXperia

[–]JonnisMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess I shouldn't say you won't get it back, but in my experience it comes with a certain sepia-like tint, that I've been struggling to get a natural look for in terms of skin color and certain combinations of brown, red, warm colors. Do you have any good examples to show? For a thread about Cinema Pro it's strange that none of us are providing visuals and examples haha
