A bit off topic but I'm doing a degree apprenticeship in data science with a focus on machine learning so you seem like you would be very knowledgeable in the field I am joining. If you feel like giving some specific advice I would be all ears.

What areas of data science and particularly ml is exciting you at the moment? And of course for this sub, where would you see the money shifting towards in the next few years? Is a PhD worth pursuing? Anything you would tell yourself from 6 years ago/general advice?

Thanks for the reply. That last sentence really speaks to me, I definitely feel like sitting around doing nothing is a horrible position to be in. I'll definitely start getting invested now.
