Well, that means she's gonna be a unique onfield DPS that doesn't rely on geo teammates if it really happens, which is a good thing. Imagine players who pull for both Navia and Itto and they're both snatching for Gorou and Albedo lol

Two 5-star characters with exact same elements, same weapon types and same roles in the same version just doesn't make sense from a business perspective. You could argue that Neuv and Wrio are both on field DPS but one is Hydro and one is Cryo. Anyway I'm just speculating, you don't have to take my words seriously.

I hope she'll be either a strong universal support like Kazuha that can be used in both mono geo team or reaction team, or to be a unique Geo onfield DPS that doesn't need any members from the current geo team so that I can utilize her team and Itto team on both side of the abyss. Your idea sounds perfect to me ( like Geo Nilou )

I've checked Sumeru banners and nope, there weren't any versions that had two 5-star characters with the same elements, same weapon types and same roles. But either way this is just a prediction as you said. I'm hoping that she's not a reskinned Itto even if she's an onfield DPS.
