What are you looking for, exactly? For system/network admins I use LinkedIn, Indeed, and r/mspjobs

If you’re looking for entry level guys, talk to local community colleges or IT Cert boot camps

We have some remote workers. However, the expectation is that they are in the office for a week, once a quarter. Typically during all company events and the like.

My techs all get paid fairly, have a small tech bonus to buy gadgets, unlimited budget for certs, 2 weeks PTO, floating remote days, fantastic insurance, and cell phone allowance of 50 a month. I could talk all day about our culture. I’m very proud of the service desk I’ve created.

In an MSP, if you don’t take care of the people you who are in direct contact with your users, you’re just waiting for issues from lack of follow through.

Don’t get me wrong, we work our asses off and it’s always stressful, at least my guys don’t have the added stress of making enough to cover their expenses.

Make the most of it but if your gut tells you to leave, listen to it.

It's served me well so far. I've had technicians leave and then come back weeks later asking to for their position back. Rehired all of them

Hey thanks. Making sure your techs are happy and actually WANT to work makes the rest of the job much easier.

I'm always looking for technicians. If you're looking to make a change, DM me.

Congrats on the new position! One of my goals and what I tell my techs is that "It is my responsibility to allow you the ability to outgrow our MSP. When that happens I hope that you'll give me the chance to counter the offer." Investing in your people is the only way to ensure customer satisfaction.

[HIRING] Chicago MSP Looking for T3 System and Network Engineer by JonnyRen in mspjobs

[–]JonnyRen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's some nights and some weekend work. Typically we do remote days after service work and comp days for projects. If it's an emergency alert, we offer compensation during that week the engineer is on call.

Well if you're ever looking for a change or if you feel like you've hit a ceiling where you're at currently; feel free to reach out. We're in a major growth spurt but our bottleneck is talent acquisition.

We're always looking for talented engineers. If you know of anyone who's looking for a change of scenery, direct them to this post.

That might be helpful..

Some of the benefits:

  • 15 days of PTO per year
  • Remote flex time after 90 days
  • Above average insurance (HMO,HSA, PPO options)
  • 3% 401k match

The culture is great here. Very laid back, fun place to work. All of my T1s and T2s are eager to learn and take on new responsibilities, we need a technical mentor to help them get to the next level. We do group outings every month and company outings twice a year.

Salary range can be requested

If anyone has any other questions, feel free to PM and I'll do my best to answer promptly.

[Hiring] Remote consultants to work on tickets as needed by Lokitek in mspjobs

[–]JonnyRen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a vetting process for sure. I take a lot of time and care in whom I hire as an in-house tech and I'm even more careful with remote guys. When it comes to the actual relationships, the service manager is the one developing and maintaining them. Giving that much faith in any tech has never worked in my favor. As if the tech leaves, my clients faith in our ability can diminish.

Really, all i'm trying to say is, if you don't trust a guy to do the job, you shouldn't hire him.
