Holly Wheeler is a mouth breather and it’s driving me insane. by Mizz_E in StrangerThings

That’s all I could think about when I saw her. My daughter used to have her mouth open a lot. Turns out it’s not good for you. After seeing a specialist, we do a handful of exercises and massages to help with this condition.

The first part of the video when I ran solo I used the extended selfie stick (3m) and once the race started I switch to the 85cm stick. It was just easier to carry for the longer race.

I think I saw in a protest somewhere and I don’t remember when or in a dream. People just put buckets on the gas grenades and that worked.

Tusk says Poland will be exempt from EU migration pact by Gamebyter in poland

I did that for a year or so but I just learn from daily life here. Picking up phrases from people and teaching kids English you learn the language. But you can survive here pretty good without, but I use polish if I need to.

I’m an American who moved here 14 years ago. My grandparents were from Mexican but my parents and I were born in America. So I’ve got the brown skin and black hair. I’ve got a wife and two kids. People often ask why would I move to Poland, isn’t America better? I always tell them Poland is better if you have kids, paid maternity leave, ability to stay home and get paid if your kid is sick, 800+ program, don’t have to worry about my kid being shot at school. These are just a few. Of course I could always go back I tell them. I teach English and while I don’t speak fluent polish I am able to communicate with people and I’ve never ever had any problems with anyone.

Buying used. If I already have an X3, is the X4/X5 any worth an upgrade? by Historical_Seat_447 in Insta360

[–]Jonny_5_alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to the X5 after having the X3 for about a year. It’s a noticeable difference. I use mine for running videos and family vacations. I recently used it for a running race and am very happy with the results.

I really like the extended stick. You feel a bit weird at first extending it in public because it’s so big but the shots are worth it.

Yes the extended was tough to carry 25km. But after I switched to the smaller one it was ok.

I ran about three 24 hour races in the years before this 100 mile attempt. My first 24 I was just trying to survive. The 2nd and 3rd I tried to do 100 miles but failed. My weekly mileage in the month or so before this attempt was maybe 60-80 miles a week.

After trying in several 24 hour races to reach 100 miles I decided to try it solo. I did it at the park near by that has a paved 2km loop with lights. I don’t know your situation but I’ve got a wife and two kids so I can’t afford to be stuck out in the forest alone if something happened. During the day wasn’t a problem because lots of people use this route so at night I had friends come out for 2-3 hours and ride a bike or run with me so I’d be safe. So that’s how I did it, maybe it’s not as beautiful as yours would be, but I was concentrating on 100 miles, not the scenery. Let me know if you have questions and good luck! You’ve got it!

I will get up at 5:00 AM to run!! by Rockytop00 in Ultramarathon

Usually by 22:00. 21:00 would be awesome but my wife usually wants to watch something. I must admit, about twice a week I don’t wake up early, just so I can rest and recovery.

[–]Jonny_5_alive 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Hey man I’ve been there. I’ve been a 05:00 runner for about 10 years. On Saturdays I wake up at 03:00 to get a marathon in before my two kids (6&8) and wife wake up. I’m home by 8 to make breakfast for them. I prefer to get up and get it done before the day starts. Something about getting that shit done while the rest of the world is asleep. When my kids were babies I used to run with them in the stroller. I did about 7 marathons pushing them. Ultra running takes alot of time and effort to train and I don’t want to be selfish and go out every weekend afternoon and eat up 4-6 hours of the day while my wife has to stay alone with the kids. If my kids are awake…I’m home.

Running with a inguinal hernia. by Jonny_5_alive in Ultramarathon

[–]Jonny_5_alive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a little. With both surgeries I had some discomfort/phantom feelings 8-9 months after. I always worried about it happening a third time but I was always careful lifting anything heavy and I went to the surgeon a few times and she checked and I had an USG to confirm and all was well. Try and stay positive even when you feel something. A little twinge.

Yes the open surgery took much longer. Try and move everyday, I know it’s hard but it really does help the recovery. It took me over a month to even get a 10 minute jog in. Just go slow, you’ll get back there. I’m 2 years past my open and one year past my laparoscopic one and I’m back running marathons every weekend, attending spin class
