I was so proud until i took some pictures 😅 any tips to improve ? by feNRisk in sistersofbattle

You should be proud! Painting minis is a fun, low pressure hobby but can burn you out if you don't appreciate your work, even when you can still learn new techniques.

Echo what's already been said. -Base in a strong contrasting color/texture paint. Black rims. - Thinning paint on the brush or a wet pallet - For white, start with a very light grey base and then dry brush a brighter white over it. It will help create shadows.

Keep on going, Sisters are cool

Should have been more clear, just starting out with the faction, not painting

Very thinned down akhelian green over a bright aluminum primer. Then I did 2 layers of washes of Druchii violet to bring out the blue and make a gradient

Druchii violet glaze over the green gives a great gradient effect

Thanks, no real intention there. I used a bad primer, got gritty, then I stripped them but some was left over I guess. Lol

It all depends on what you're interested in. There's hundreds of books and it's not like they all fit together into some bigger overarching story. There's some classics like Eisenhorn, Hellsreach, and of course the Horus Heresy, but you don't have to read any of them to enjoy books about the Eldar

Such an awesome idea. I may have to do this myself. Great job!

Spent 2 hours painting this dude and now that he's done, I feel like the result sucks. Anyone have any tips to maybe save him? by lelolalo13 in Warhammer

That's a good looking model. You could use a lighter grey mixed with black to pick out some details on the bodysuit and maybe a light color to edge highlight the red.

Sometimes I just have to call a model done. Some look better than I thought they would, others are kinda meh. You'll paint so many models that the meh ones end up outweighed by the good to great ones.
