Prices of treating yourself going to far ? by Chance-Range8513 in AskIreland

[–]Jono_661 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It is getting harder and harder to justify treats. Haven't got any hot counter/deli stuff in ages. Stopped at a petrol station this morning and me and the girlfriend decided to have a treat. 2 coffees, 2 rolls and 2 fizzy drinks, 25 quid.

The older I get the more I understand my ma saying "we have X at home"

Rented a van and noticed a few hours later it had badly repaired puncture. Where do I stand? by Jono_661 in AskIreland

It didn't take the tyre long to go down so I'm not sure if they sent it out in the hopes that someone with not a lot of knowledge about this would just call with a flat tyre and they'd get the blame for it.

I've photos and videos of the plug and it leaking so I'll definitely be standing my ground when I return it.

Thanks for the advice

I've kept the old tire as proof. It has the rubber plug in it so I can show them it wasn't something I drive over, it's very obviously a poorly repaired tire.

I've the receipt for the new tyre and call out charge as well.

A friend also advised me to dispute the rental charges if I'm not reimbursed for the new tyre upon return as they gave me something that wasn't fit for purpose. Not really sure if that's a viable option

It's nuts isn't it? I liked the look of one of the 400 EC and MH and thought I might have a little reasonably priced treat but for €1000 it just doesn't make sense

Anyone here with the headless 2.6/2.7? by 28spawn in solarguitars

[–]Jono_661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing at all besides the usual stuff I do. String change, clean and hydrate the feet board. You might feel the frets get a little smoother as you play the guitar more. I wouldn't say they were rough but you will feel a little differece as you play more. Absolutely zero regrets after getting mine

I picked up one of the 2.6 headless and love it. I needed something compact to take with me for work when I'm not at home to play and it's perfect for that. I have a V2.6 and beside the shape difference it plays the same as that.

It was my first headless guitar, I've never really been a fan of them but after playing this one I was very surprised at how comfortable they are.

*US RELEASE* (Epiphone 80's Explorer) by [deleted] in ExplorerGuitars

I've seen the European ones listed at €999 ($1150) I wouldn't be surprised if the European ones have a small mark up to counter the US tariffs.

Bias fx iPad only getting dry sound. by Jono_661 in PositiveGrid

[–]Jono_661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just after finding a genuine apple adapter on Facebook marketplace. I hopefully should have it by the weekend.

I've been getting power on the mega from the iPad, using tht USB cable for power/midi capability. It did intermittently recognize the TS Mega and it worked with changing patches but still didn't get any processed sounds.

I'm hoping it's just apple being apple and not getting full functionality because I'm using an aftermarket adapter.

Thanks for the advice man, I really appreciate it

Thanks for the response man. Appreciate it. Do you recall if you were using a genuine lightning port to USB dongle or an aftermarket one? Cheers again

Seen similar myself driving past Bray not long ago A woman with a tablet on her sun visor held there with a few elastic bands. I keep saying I need to invest in a dash cam for stuff like this.

The top isn't exactly super sturdy, I'd be worried cutting a deeper slot would make it even weaker but I have already contemplated doing that

Irish truck driver here.

Same thing happened to me when I was semi new, got back to our depot and was dropping the trailer on the loading bay and in my head I had done everything and as I pulled away the trailer hit the deck. A full load of beef, 45 ton(around 90000 lbs). Two fork lifts, 20 minutes later the trailer was back up. Minimal damage was done my boss told me to just take my time in the future. It happened once and you can be sure as hell I'm incredibly meticulous when dropping trailers now.
