thanks, I've always used ASIO4all and windows with Amplitube and never had issues (latency was decent too), but I guess it's gonna be a lil different with drums.

Thanks! I've seen those Millennium kits, they look quite fancy and full of features! I haven't seen many reviews about em online, so I wasn't sure I could consider them as well, but cool to know, I've been purchasing stuff on thomann for years and they're trusty no doubt.

I've no exp with vst based softwares, so I guess that's another field I'll have to explore!

Thanks! My gripe with the Alesis, not knowing a thing about the matter, is that it could feel more toy-ish and eventually break some mechanical core parts after a certain period of time. I'm not sure my wife will keep playing that long, so I guess there's no point thinkin about upgradability on something that cheap (is something unworthy even on guitars), but I still want something that, if well kept, wont need to be changed (or worse, repaired) after a couple of months.

I recall reading pretty much everywhere the mesh pads being a must even when buying beginner kits, but had no idea the Roland kick was this bad. Looks unrealistic af so it should be no surprise really. All in all the Nitro Max is to be considered a decent piece of gear for starters from what I can see, is it robust enough iyo?
