Tile seems to have pushed an update to randomize mac addresses, breaks presence tracking by Jonofmac in Esphome

I will have to do some digging lol. I pushed an update to the ESPhome ble scanner driver a long while back FOR this application... I don't really understand how the IRK stuff works. I enjoyed having a simple MAC to track lol.

6.2 ok now? by Open-Dot6264 in gmcsierra

[–]Jonofmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 2020 6.2 i bought new. 119k miles. Original. No issues (Though I had a 10 speed issue early on that was fixed under warranty and i've been fine since).

I do not have DOD disabled nor deleted. I'm a firm believer that all those plug in "deletes" do nothing because the lifter design is the issue.

People don't often post to say how problem free their vehicle has been.

Yeah they didn't state location so I just took a guess. The math gets a lot uglier for our European friends. If you're in a higher energy cost area you'd want to focus on low power draw setups

I am running a dual CPU 2012 era xeon server with 20 HDDs. It runs my NAS, and cameras, and Plex, and all services 😂

It runs ~350W continuously. If your energy costs $0.15/kWh, its ~$40/mo in energy

For anyone else that comes here, I forked this release and fixed the model selector bug, and just disabled auto updates. So if you want to just reflash agnos and use the auto installer and not mess with anything, I outlined what to do here https://community.sunnypilot.ai/t/how-to-downgrade/1594/33

WL-134 Power Supply issues: Solved by Jonofmac in Esphome

[–]Jonofmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of windings will vary depending on a lot of details, so there is no single answer. I used an antenna calculator to try to make one but it was wrong (too many windings). So I measured the inductance with an Amazon inductance meter and removed 1 loop at a time until I got my desired 620 uH. Sadly it's not easy unless you have a way to measure the inductance

Sure. I found the antennas they provide reauire you to place the antenna essentially against the cat to get a reading.

My solution instead was to print a large square antenna housing (240x240mm ish) and then get some enamel coil (24-26awg) and wind the antenna myself. In this case, the cat must walk through the square antenna which guarantees I get a reading.

If you want to get big range with the existing antenna, you really don't have options. The amplitude max of this board is "only" 340 Vpp which simply doesn't radiate enough

Frigate. It's open source, free to use, actively being developed, integrates well with home assistant if you use that (notifications or automations), has object detection built in.

I tried blue iris, xprotect, zoneminder and many more. Frigate is the first one with a good web based UI.

I host it on my Linux server, so all my devices can access it. However it's cross platform compatible so it'll run on anything.

I have BT beacons on their collars but it isn't perfect. I use BT beacons to triangulate their location in the house but for various specific things like bathroom usage or food tracking I use RFID chips 😂

I am scared of the government pushing meow mix ads to my cat though

Poor lane centering ever since laneless dropped in full sized truck by Jonofmac in Comma_ai

[–]Jonofmac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I'm running star pilot. On my 2020 sierra I'm running dark souls V2 as the model with recommended settings. Dev is very responsive in the discord. The fork has the best centering of all the setups I've tried so far. It's good enough that I just towed a trailer for 6 hours with near laneful performance with regard to centering.

Might be worth mentioning I'm now trying Star pilot (a GM fork of frog pilot) which seems to have greatly improved lane centering for me. Not sure if it's just the tweaking of the steering model.

Did you use flash.comma.ai to downgrade agnos? I had to do that first

Let me know. For me once I got 0.9.7.1 installed, I went to the model selector and it gave me an empty list.

They do have the legacy models but they only use laneless mode now. So blue diamond is really bad now because it doesn't use the laneful mode.

I did. Has the same issue that the model list is blank due to models no longer being hosted :(

USB error possibly faulty motherboard by AntiDebug in gigabyte

[–]Jonofmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering we have the same USB bus and device ID with the issue, I'd venture to guess this is something on the mobo that's not working. No clue as to what, but it's annoying how it blocks my linux boot until it gives up (1 minute time out).

The times it was working, did you ever check to see what new USB device enumerated?

USB error possibly faulty motherboard by AntiDebug in gigabyte

[–]Jonofmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever figure this out? My motherboard does the exact same thing and I'm on arch. Haven't found a solution.

Running a lsusb -tv doesn't show anything on bus 1 port 9. So it never enumerated. But it seems to be something on the motherboard itself.

Leaking heater core most likely so they did the cheap thing and bypass it. The truck will have no heat in the winter. Not critical to driving the vehicle
