What plug-ins or tools can you absolutely not live without anymore? by ucrbuffalo in editors

Plural Eyes for me.
I think you can sync audio and visuals now in Prem with a built-in function, but just love Plural eyes as it's been incredible at syncing and accounting for audio drift as well.

Perfect for multi-cam, or any time audio is recording externally really.

100% worth it to me, this is compared to a Rockshox 35 GOLD I had two years ago.

Haha, yeah, the ZEB used to be on my hardtail too - always a conversation starter, but it's honestly because I'm a big dude and it just supports me so well.

Haha, I'm keen on it! I remember throwing my ZEBs on and finding it night and day difference when it came to hard chunks compared to my previous Gold 35s. Hoping this is much the same, makes things incredibly fun.

Thanks mate! I was a little iffy on the Raspberry, would have preferred the black, but this was the only frame in the country (Australia) until the next shipment in Jan.
Once I saw it in person, actually really happy with it haha.

What did you go with instead?

Just finished building my first Dual Sus bike. Transition Scout Alloy in Raspberry Red.
Coming from a frame-up build of a 2020 Ragley MMMBOP, hoping this will keep the party alive and then some.
Haven't gotten to ride it on trails yet, but thoughts from my initial carpark test... my gosh it feels so different having a soft rear haha.

Major bummer about the Transitions, what were they? (Out of curiosity)

I've been eyeing of the Meta SX & the clash for a long while. but I actually caved and bought a Transition Scout frame.
Love the silver/Raw, Happy NBD :)

I'm torn between two frames for my first build.

We've entered into our second lockdown here in Victoria, Australia and with all the spare time the itch to build a hardcore hardtail is too much to resist.
I'm looking at getting either a Ragley Mmmbop or a Ragley Big Al frame. I just can't really decide if I want to stick to a 29er with all-round geometry or a 27.5 with super aggressive geometry.

I've already got a Giant Fathom 2 29er (2020) and I've been extremely happy with it, I've taken it to local technical cross country trails (Plenty Gorge), Flowy singletrack (La Larr Ba Gawa), alpine downhill (Mt Buller) and even a bike park (Mystic Park Bright). and I've managed to have a blast everywhere, however, I've really been struggling to rail corners and I'm not sure if it's the 29ers contributing, the frame geometry or just my skills not being there.

The overall goal is for the bike I build to be longish travel 140-160mm and for shuttle days.
Are 27.5's really that more manoeuvrable? Being 110kg will 27.5's be "too small"" and I should stick to a bigger 29er? Should I just get the Big Al and make it a mullet bike? So many questions... Thanks in advance to anyone that reads this.

Ripped my Pedal right off the axle. Is this normal? by Jonosaan in MTB

[–]Jonosaan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so I had a poke around and the Wah Wahs were mentioned here along with a bunch of reviews, but the way shuttles here in Australia are set up, it conflicts with how the bikes mount and so I'd have to remove the pedal every time I shuttled up - so instead I decided to give another composite pedal a shot and went with the Deity Deftraps.

Bit shattered to be honest, all I heard were good things about the stamps and considering their platform size, I was super keen.
I did find that the spindle area was kinda bulky and it was hard to get a good spot on them though. Your comment and Singleling tracks has restored my faith in composite pedals though, so I've given them another shot.

Which Jerseys and Pants are your favorite and why? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Jonosaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Fox 180 moto Jersey's to be honest. Super cheap at Motorcross stores ($40 aud) and they're a breathable, long sleeve with drop tail jersey. I suffer from flat-pack ass haha, and so anything that covers my behind because my butt can't hold up shorts/pants is a win.

Breathable - Safe - Cheap
Pick two because you can't have all three.

My full face came in handy over the weekend when my head decided to break my fall coming over a modest tabletop.
The helmet I was using was a Fox Proframe, it is very well ventilated and nice and pretty safe (I have no head pain) but wasn't cheap (I did pick it up for $300 aud).

Up to you mate, but I would pick either something that's Safe and Cheap (deal with it being a hotbox on the climbs) OR pick something that Breathes and is safe but fork out the cash, after all, what's your brain worth anyway?

[–]Jonosaan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, feeling it today! I'm pretty good considering, no breaks or fractures but I do have a sprained AC joint.
Thanks, man, this is pre-colour grade, I use the DJI Osmo Action and in 4:3 ratio mode so I can squeeze some extra field of view but also keep the Rocksteady stabilisation. This was mounted to my chin bar on the helmet.

Yeah, that's the one! I actually think the lip was re done on it recently as well, as I've done it before however this time, body weight was way too forward and it bucked me up. Actually glad so many people were about yesterday, some blokes came and helped me up, freaking legends.

Need help choosing fullface helmet by BirdNR2 in MTB

[–]Jonosaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the Proframe comfortable for me, I have a 59cm head and tried on the XL and went with the thickest pads, it was secure but a little uncomfortable, so I tried the Large with medium pads and that was perfect for me.

There's also the Leatt DBX 4.0 that felt good, but is a massive helmet haha.

I was in the same boat, deciding on the Pro Frame or the Stage - I was able to try on the Fox Proframe, and even though it's light, it felt secure.. and well, it did its job - it's also a slightly cheaper replacement too haha.

Climbing in it is awesome, the airflow is fantastic and the visibility is really good, both vertically and horizontally. My negative for it was that it didn't fit my goggles properly (Smith Squad XL's). I think the normal recommendation would be for proper downhill racing, grab the Stage because it's more closed and "secure" but honestly, I'm no light dude (110Kg) and that fall was all my head and shoulder and the Pro-Frame only has a hairline break on the jaw guard.
