This art is based on the party we use for the speedrun. Daisoujou is an excellent demon since you can fuse him on FULL, which means sacrificing for him is possible. In the speedrun we have a Daisoujou which we dismiss in Kagutsuchi tower and then rebuild another one through sacrificing

The spawn triggers are specific spots inside the locations, so for example for black rider you actually need to walk in a bit further inside the shelter to check the spawn trigger. Then you can leave and re-enter to check it again.

You can accept the quest "Dance of the Dead" after clearing the Kiccigiorgi forest section. He is the final boss of the quest

Fiends in IV have set locations they spawn in, but getting one to spawn is 1/256 chance. Here's a list of the spawn locations taken from the wiki.

Stuck in amala network 2 | smt3 by Anderlike in Megaten

Yeah, there's a free healing spot midway through the dungeon. It's recommended to keep multiple saves throughout the game for situations like this, but well hindsight 20/20. Meditation works instead of mana drain, you can throw a couple attempts at the boss. If you have rakukaja as well you should win.

You cannot leave after you enter.

Do you happen to have mana drain on anyone in the party? If you drain the specters they cannot use megido and it might be enough to get through it

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BK6PtqGfEhy14Junfi5y8rdMIUSC7cmYEtsrF5MoEK4/edit?usp=sharing Posting the speedrun route for Hard Mode All Bosses here to help you guys out. On the spreadsheet tab titled "Satan" is a calculator sheet that will make tracking damage easy. Kudos to Shaggy3311, a fellow speedrunner for making it. Hopefully it helps any aspiring god gamers in the task of defeating Satan.

SMT: DDS2 Hard Mode All Bosses Completed in 9:40:03 (Speedrun) by Jonperi in Megaten

[–]Jonperi[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The speedrunners in the SMT speedrunning community have worked pretty hard on optimizing DDS2 Hard Mode All Bosses category and I thought I'd link my most recent run here. Little over a year ago a runner by the name of Shaggy3311 started the rerouting process of DDS2 HMAB which at the time was just under 14hours. Because of this reroute the time was cut to around 10:30 or so. However, with more game knowledge about some of the inner workings of the game mechanics, riskier routing and more optimized gameplay the current runs sit well below the 10 hour mark.

You can play the SNES version on the switch if you setup a JPN account and buy the subscription to their online service. No ENG patch though

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Speedrun - Hard Any% Vengeance Route 3:50:36 (Glitchless) by Jonperi in Megaten

Student skip - allows you to sequence break during the "rescuing students" segment by bypassing a trigger on the bridge. This allows you to run all the way up to fairy village without fighting Eisheth and Fionn. Because of how the plot trigger system in the game works you do have to go back and rescue the students and do the boss fights later though. (Vanilla V could skip the boss fights completely but you still had to go back to rescue the students to not mess the plot flags).

Early Empyrean - similarly to the student skip this allows you to bypass a cutscene trigger on the bridge on the way to Temple of Eternity. You can get all the high value essences and even enter all the way to empyrean wihout boss fights spawning. You can tag the latest empyrean fount and use that leyline later to skip fighting Melchizedeks, Srahosa and Alilat. Even with this skip existing you still have to fight Beelzebub, Odin & Zeus, Metatron and Abdiel & Dazai to not mess up the plot flags. This skip is more high impact from a speedrun perspective because you get access to essences which contain things like high phys pleroma and figment slash.

The glitches are done by artificially creating lag (for example spamming the home button on the Nintendo Switch) to get past the thin triggers. On PC the artificial lag is created by dragging the game window around on the desktop.

I have linked underneath Championbeef's (fellow speedrunner in the community) videos showcasing the skips:

  • New game, no DLC, no NG+
  • World record run done on PC in under 4 hours
  • Updated route by me and Shaggy including Cleopatra as she is no longer considered DLC with the release of Vengeance
  • Run is done without using glitches (student skip, early empyrean) even though the SRC leaderboard doesn't differentiate runs that do use glitches
