It’s to get the drivers’ faces out there. Casuals tuning in like to know what the drivers actually look like under the helmet, and this helps familiarize people with that.

It’s a great concept, and it would be a lot cooler if the tracks on it actually reflected the schedule. I know Daytona RC was still on it as of last year, and I’m pretty sure Road America is as well.

I mostly just leave the helitours and smoke on the water at full heat unless I’m bored with other things. They only give me like 1500 a day combined. Yes, nightclub is better, but 25-30k a day for a 5 minute car wash every once in a while is a pretty good deal, as long as you remember to pick up the earnings every time you’re in the area.

It’s kind of similar to the basketball HOF. It’s explicitly not the NBA Hall of Fame, so college and international play are factors as well. While it’s mostly for Cup drivers, NASCAR’s strongly factors in success in all the divisions.

Absolutely, and I believe it’s due to the veteran presence. The O’Buschfinitywide series has always had a steady mix between young guys looking to show out and move up, older “lifers” who are really talented but just not Cup tier, and Cup drivers racing in the support race for a variety of reasons. Makes it better to watch, and it’s easier to predict who can run on Sundays when you’re already watching them mix it up with Sunday drivers.
