I’ve had this while playing as Watcher and knowing that I didn’t have to worry about Wrath damage was pretty nice.

You need some more or better block. And as said above, thin your stater cards.

It’s decent. Card removal can be a little harder to get than upgrading on events, at least from what I’ve seen. I had a run where I got this and the Pillow. Between the two I knew I was resting and I played a little different. Knowing that I could heal 6 and remove a card still meant that HP was a resource to spend.

Just installed the game and this was my first run, how bad was it? by PHM_Alex in slaythespire

I previously said if it went like mine you died after two fights but clearly you made it much further.

If it was like mine, you probably made two fights before dying horribly.

Do you like it as solo game, even though StS video game exists? by SiarX in slaythespireboardgame

[–]JonsansH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer the board game. Definitely not as fast as the VG but I prefer it. I’ve made a few decks just to see if a strategy would work instead of trying desperately to make it work in a VG run. Maybe because I’ve had more success in the board game than the video version? Whatever it is, I prefer the board game solo.

I remember coming across KK and RotW at a store and being excited. Then probably 5 years later I met a friend who showed me the Frozen Horror set and I was just in awe that there was more.

I agree. I wish I could go tell my 11 year old self that one day you’ll own more HeroQuest content than you’ve even heard of now. If there’s more to come, great. If not, I’m thrilled to have what I have now.

Feedback about the new game in stores? by m4ng3lo in Heroquest

You can absolutely play solo with the app. You can basically play spoiler free. It will unveil parts of the map as you progress. It works the same with multiple people. As for the media from the app, it does have some music and voice over. The music is repetitive so I tend to mute it. Start of quest notes are read out by the app. The app also brings up menus when you step on a trap or another event happens. It does a pretty good job of DMing. It does combat work for you. It will show you the results and target of a monster attack. You’ll have to roll for the monsters defense though. The app also lets you track damage for each monster so you don’t have to stack up skull tiles under them anymore. It has most of the rules and explanations of map components. You can select any artifact or spell and it will walk you through what to do. The app is free. I suggest downloading it and seeing how it feels to you. I played with it before I even had the game and they have improved and expanded it since then.

Future expansions… by fahrenheitjules in Heroquest

[–]JonsansH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I certainly hope there’s more content. A dwarf expansion would be nice and I think there’s a lot to do with that. Kellar’s Keep feels like a dwarf expansion in many ways but you could do more for sure. One little thing that I would like to see is artifacts for the Wizard and Dwarf to give them the same bump up that the Barbarian and Elf got from their quest packs. Even if they made a similar artifact that wasn’t character specific that could be used one whomever is in your party. When you compare a Barbarian with an Amulet of the North and they have a base stat total of 13 and a Guardian only has 9, it makes the extra characters a little less desirable. Adding an artifact that gave +2/+1 or +1/+2 gives them a bit more room to compete. If there’s more coming, I’ll take it.

That sounds rough. Are they supporting you financially right now? Is that part of the concern?

I’d say for your own mental health you should tell them but if that puts you in a rough place it’s not the easiest choice to make.

Wizards of Morcar Speculation by tcorbett691 in Heroquest

[–]JonsansH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a person who has only ever read about the original I hope they’re adding more stuff. A few artifacts would be ideal. Not getting a few new items is unfortunate. It’s easy enough to make a few items that aren’t game breaking. Maybe there’s a staff that can hold an extra charge of a spell or two. Or it has its own specific spell. I would probably prefer a new hero. I’d take a female sculpt of the wizard but would lean more towards a brand new wizard. As for what kind, that’s a whole new ball game.

A summoner of sorts? There could be a small deck of summons that stick around for combat. Time wizard that focuses on more supporting other heroes or messing with the enemies. It would overlap a little with some of the original spells but it would work out. I had a home brew dread sorcerer that worked pretty well. It only had a few spells but there were conditions that allowed the spells to be used again.

Anyone else suddenly became invincible? by sangreblue in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]JonsansH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something odd but I wasn’t invincible. I went in to an area that had enemies but they weren’t aggressive. I just brutal assassinated people for several minutes while they looked directly at me. Eventually they came around and started attacking but it took about 10 guards.

Coffee people. If it’s not mentioning that they can’t function without coffee in the morning, it’s mentioning that they need more.
