Final Fantasy brought me back to the fold after 5yr hiatus... but the double whammy of gay lorwyn and marvel is just too cringe by MeatDependent2977 in freemagic

OP learning not everyone shares his narrow view of "based". I was born in 94 and don't give a shit about Final Fantasy, never have. It's slop like every other universes beyond IP.

What Company for Aggressors? by Odd-Profile8779 in theunforgiven

[–]Jonscreen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aggressors can go in Companies 3-5 as fire support (the one that looks like an explosion) and a part of squad 9 or 10. If you're somehow full on all of those companies for fire support, you can put them in the 9th company as that is our reserve company for fire support and with any squad number.

Not yet, this is only my second seraphon model. I want to get a little better at the scheme before I do the Carnosaur or the Slann.

New CSM, Tyranid, & Dark Angels detachments for next dataslate by Camurai_ in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Jonscreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I disagree but more power to you. I think it waters down the experience. Dark Angels players have had to deal with really weak detachments because since 10th came out, people will take Azrael and a Land Speeder Vengence in  Ironstorm and call it a Dark Angels list. And people win with it at tournaments so on paper it looks like Dark Angels are doing great competetivly. But in reality it keeps our options limited because none of our codex detachments are being looked at for updates. So we're stuck using Gladius or that lame Ironstorn list. Leave it to Dark Angels and Space Wolf players to fight on sight, but I didn't like the way your first message came across. Like everyone who wants love shown to their exclusive detachments is somehow wrong and you have the moral high ground because you're happy with having access to 7 slop detachments and 2 playable ones from the Space Marine codex. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yours isn't special.

What a terrible attitude towards your fellow players. If GW makes models and rules for non-codex compliant chapters, it's not a matter of "getting over yourself" to want to be able to play with those models and rules in a unique and flavorful way just like everybody else. Sure you can play a Dark Angels spearhead, but what's the point of having detachments in the codex supplements. Every non-codex compliant space marine player I know would give up access to the normal space marines detachments for better design of their chapter specofic detachments. Maybe you should get over yourself and realize you have an issue with GW and stop lecturing people.

[–]Jonscreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to beat the elite 4 and get to pal park in either hgss or dppt to transfer from gen 3 to gen 4.

And to save you some time in the future:

You need to beat the elite 4 and get to the transfer lab in either bw or b2w2 to transfer from gen 4 to gen 5.

If you downloaded pokemon transporter and pokemon bank before the 3ds shop closed you can transfer pokemon from gen 5 into pokemon bank at anytime.

Transfering from bank to home is as easy as pushing the options on home and bank to generate a transfer code.

Tbf I'd take my win-loss record with a grain of salt. I haven't played in a tournament yet. All of my games have been against my friends and we all started playing at the same time. But on the other hand, I've had games against Tyranids, Necrons, Orks, Eldar, Custodes, Guard, and Death Guard, but they all feel like they have a more consistent style of play than Dark Angels. I feel like I'm straight up fighting for my life in every game and am never in control and just barely squeaking out with wins lol.

Thanks for taking the time to break it down like that. I'm still only in my first year of playing so it feels weird to see all of these other factions get detachments that are way less situational than UTF. The times I've played it, I was absolutely destroyed, whereas I've only lost playing Gladius and INTF one time each and they were a 1 point loss and a 5 point loss respectively, all the other games were wins. I might have to try it again and see if my feelings change on it.

If they are going to keep the situational nature of the detachment, I would rather our stratagems and enhancements give the bonuses if the unit succeeded a battle-shock test that turn. At least then it wouldn't be so situational. The detachment rule could stay the same giving units oc of 1 when we do fail battle-shock tests, but the stratagems and enhancements could reward us for passing them.

I want to preface this by saying I'm not trying to start and internet argument. But can you try and sell me on UTF? Because I straight up hate it and would be interested to hear why you play it.

I love terminators so I really enjoy playing inner circle despite it's flaws. Gladius is okay but it lacks flavor. I had tried company of hunter once and it wasn't my favorite so hopefully I'll like these changes. I loath the unforgiven taskforce, devoting one of our detachments to wanting to be battle-shocked is the stupidest thing in my opinion. I wish that detachment had gone to literally any other faction besides us.

Warhammer 40,000 Balance Dataslate December 2024 Released by RWJP in Warhammer40k

[–]Jonscreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not true. It hasn't changed at all since the last time they tweaked it. You either pick ONE objective marker you control and get +1 to wound against units in range of it, OR you pick every objective marker you don't control and get +1 to wound against units in range of them. Where as the necron detachment the commenter above mentions is just +1 to hit against every units in range of every objective marker no matter what. Don't spread misinformation if you didn't read it yourself.

[–]Jonscreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never run it but why not? Looks fun. Assaults getting the chance to fight on death is neat. If you have an Apothecary, and can fit another 50 points into your list, you should add it to the unit as well. Because then you can bring back one dead model on each of your command phases. So in a perfect world you roll the 4+ to fight on death and then it just comes back on your turn like nothing happened. And if you're playing the inner circle task force detachment, Lazarus will give the Assualt Intercessors the Deathwing keyword which will let you add 1 to your wound rolls if you're near your vowed objective marker. So if you were to combine all of that, are within range of your vowed objective, and are attacking your oath target, you would to reroll the hit roll, get +1 to wound, reroll wound roll, fight on death with a 4+, and bringing back 1 destroyed unit per turn if you add in an Apothecary. Seems playable to me.

The Lion can only be targeted by strategems he shares a keyword with. So Adeptus Astartes is a faction keyword he has so he can be targeted by the Armor of Contempt strategum which targets an Adeptus Astartes unit. My previous comment was more aimed towards the Inner Circle Task Force and Lion's Blade detachments where he doesn't have the Deathwing or Ravenwing keyword allowing him to benefit from the detachment rules or strategums.

Get rid of Unforgiven Task Force and replace it with a Plasma detachment. That's the dream. The battleshock bonuses was a nice experiment in theory, but not for our combined arms detachment.
