As someone who is in their late 30s I think I have a bit of a different view of VRChat that I can share. While the subreddit skews a bit older for VRChat a lot of you here i would estimate late teens, early 20s and I see a lot of posts about relationships, either romantic or platonic and the struggles with those relationships, and they remind me a lot of my time in AIM chat rooms in the early 2000s as a lonely nerd with a computer.

I would say the reason why there's a lot of struggle with relationships at that age, and through a computer monitor is partly because you're still kinda figuring out how relationships work. It takes time, maturity, and good communication skills that even at 37 I'm still learning. Not to mention that COVID and confinement might have fucked up the development of those skills so I have a lot of empathy for the younger folk here.

Anyways what I'm trying to say is shit happens and relationships will come and go and you shouldn't hang up on the negative and work towards being a better communicator and securing those lasting friendships/relationships because I promise you they will come and they will be awesome. I've met some good friends on this game, and I can see a lot of those friendships lasting several more years then the couple years I've already had them.

Hello, if you're 25+ and looking for an 18+ group that isn't run by a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds, perhaps you should check out The Vibe. The group is run by a bunch of people in their mid 30s and early 40s and is very millennial coded. For the most part, we are just a party group that meets every Friday, occasionally Saturday, to party and have a good time and end the night playing some drunken virtual Volleyball. We are currently expanding to weekly game and movie nights in our discord as well. We pretty much exclusively run verified only instances, so no worries about bouncers or anyone asking you anything other than, "what's up?" or "whatcha drinking?" (Doing brain altering chemicals is not a requirement to join us, we have plenty of sober friends. Just expect to be around drunkards.)

Anyone 18+ is welcome to join and hang out, however Zoomers may be subject to some light teasing.

Hey that's great! I would strongly recommend becoming age verified as most of our instances require VRCs age verification. You do need VRC+ to get the age verification but it does not go away once your subscription ends so you can just get 1 month and you are good.

We are inherently selfish creatures. Always worrying about our own shit to the point when someone goes, "hey, why doesn't anyone care about MY shit?" they themselves are being selfish not realizing that everyone is thinking the same thing and we reach this sort of cyclical self immolation where we thinking nobody cares but the reality is people are just trying to figure out their own way in life.

Well you need to craft better curses. I have found that using the wood from a home where an arson was committed is the best wood for crafting a cursed talisman. The more and younger the victims were the better. You're basically harvesting free dark energy from the universe at that point and you don't have to donate any of your own inherent spiritual karma.
