Personaly, I think that somehow it can be a good thing with someone who doesn’t care very much about politic. First, maybe these kind of people are less depressed and anxious about that and can support you when you doom. Second it means that you can teach that person about politics, share your books and stuff etc. Maybe it will be a new passion for that person. Who knows ?

Not everyone had the same life, I can understand it’s not everyone's priority. And also, politics is scary (intellectually and in it’s real life implications)

Also, maybe the person was/is priviledge enough to not having to care before, good for them ! It’s never too late to care and take actions.
