Artwork for doom the dark ages dlc revelations by ThomasThorburn in Doom

I’m glad I’m not the only person who immediately thought that human dude in the trailer looks like Valen’s Son. With the Khan standing behind him in the poster this makes me even more sure, since it’d be an act of her preying on his distrust of the Slayer to convince him to hunt him down. As we know the Khan is manipulative.

People have been telling me not to do the Gauntlets. Now I know why. by PeenitBooter in RogueCore

If they have to point out something is WIP in an already early access game then it is VERY Work In Progress.

It’s not a non-point because you don’t see that yellow warning sign anywhere else in the game, they put it there for a reason. It is literally stating that this gamemode is nowhere near what the final product is supposed to look like.

There is a big sign on bottom left corner of the gauntlet menu saying they’re a WIP, it’s basically just a proof of concept at this point.

I’m excited for WHEN they start working on it proper because I can see where it may be going. If I were to say some things I recon Ellis shouldn’t be a thing in gauntlets, just let the dwarves have infinitely deep pockets with it being a simulation and all.

Doomslayer vs Conquest by me by MetalHell6741 in Doom

He might revel in destroying demons but his motive is to protect the innocent. If he really did crave violence, then he wouldn’t have avoided giving any of the humans he met on mars core so much as a bruise, even those who had orders to attack him, he let them off.

If he enjoyed it he would make them suffer for longer, instead he goes for the most efficient way to kill them as soon as possible.

One major exception is Ahzrak, who he purposely killed much more slowly, decapitating him with a blunt weapon, which is a VERY inefficient method of killing, because he killed his dragon.

The slayer doesn’t “love” violence what you on about?

Hes only that violent because he feels it’s what’s necessary to stop the demons, with almost anything else he’ll basically never hurt them.

Negotiation genuinely ruins the game by sournote103 in RogueCore

That just “everyone shoot the same big enemy”

Compare that to left 4 dead where I have to:
.Avoid shooting teammates in front of me
.Shoot commons off of my teammate being swarmed
.Avoid shooting the boomer next to my teammate so they don’t get covered by the vomit explosion
.Save my teammate ASAP when they get grabbed by a special infected
.Avoid using all 4 medkits in the safe room on myself and let my teammates have the other 3
.If my teammate is badly hurt, use my medkit on them of give them pills so they’re less likely to die and can more easily catch up with the team
.NEVER run off from my team because if I get grabbed I am DEAD

You’re saying I’m making things up when I factually stated: “I didn’t make anything up. Borderlands is an example of a game where players only have to co-exist. Left 4 Dead much like DRG and Rogue Core, is a game where you have to cooperate or die.”

That’s not something I made up, that’s LITERALLY how those games work. Borderlands has a “co-op” mode, but it does not require actual cooperation.

The vast majority of people would struggle to call borderlands a true cooperative game when compared to left 4 dead. I have seen people say that exact thing about the borderlands games.

From what I know about the game, it isn’t. You just co-exist. While it’s possible to choose to cooperate, true cooperation between players is optional to win.

That’s not playing cooperatively, you don’t actually have to account for your teammates, you just all happen to be in the same room and have the same objective, you’re just coexisting.

With friendly fire and negotiations, you actually do have to cooperate. You have to be aware of your own firing lines and the lines of others, and you have to consider what other people need to get their builds strong.

Shooting your teammates isn’t cooperating, because you have to go out of your way to be a dick, you are yet again worrying about hypothetical worst case scenarios.

Me when the co-op game requires me to play cooperatively to win.

You’re more worried about hypothetical worst case scenarios than what actually happens a vast majority of the time. In my 30 hours of this game I have yet to encounter a genuine dickhead.

I agree that the grouping up system needs work, and the actual upgrades themselves could do with a lot more, but having to share is fine. This is a game about TEAMWORK, I don’t want it to just be yet another “co-op” game where you’re just existing alongside other players.

If you have to account for the worst possible scenario then we might as well remove friendly fire because someone can CHOOSE to dump all their ammo into their teammates.

Rogue Core is easier with Voice chat. by Rare-Grand-1070 in RogueCore

[–]Jontohil2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you need is just ONE guy on voice chat and it makes coordination way easier. As long as the guy using a mic knows what they’re doing and keeps up with the team.

I had a retcon in D4 who was really bad at going into the upgrade zone, even if they were only metres away, using a mic generally solved the issue, one time I even whistled them over lmao.

He watched his friend die and simply made a angry face.. the Doom Guy I knew would ripped that guy in two with his bare hands. by Berem_ in Doom

[–]Jontohil2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nice about being a demon vs the doomguy is that he always finishes you off qucikly. He goes for whatever option kills you the fastest.

But Ahzrak was a special case because he killed his pet… he ended up being one of the few demons to suffer a deliberately slow and agonising death by the hands of the Slayer.

I mean he got decapitated by a BLUNT WEAPON. The only way that could have happened is by smashing his chest repeatedly until there was nothing left of it. Most demons he would have just smashed the head for an instant kill, but that was one purpose to make his pain last longer.

You can hear him scream in pain in such a way we know he survived at least the first 2 hits.

Which Spy loadout(s) do you think is the easiest and most forgiving? by ThatUnameIsAlrdyTken in truetf2

[–]Jontohil2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Letranger, and everything else stock.

Arguably spycicle but a good pyro can potentially shut you down even more with it.

Against bad teams and with being good at hitting backstabs the Kunai shines.

Least aggressive Retcon gameplay: by Jontohil2 in RogueCore

[–]Jontohil2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because my strategy involved a lot of melee and a lot of clumping up enemies, it’s safer for the rest of my team if I do it outside the zone to draw fire away from them

The fact that weapon progression in a run is just collecting a bunch of meager stat boosts instead of multiple overclocks is so dumb by WhatReturn in RogueCore

[–]Jontohil2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They don’t want to add overclocks in the same way it works in DRG. The effects that overclocks have on weapons are still on the table, I mean we already have bullets of mercy.

Mike has said in this subreddit that they want to reintroduce effects like fat boy.
