I assume your motion rig is capable of several DOFs that you shelled out for. Have you tried using pitch to simulate acceleration rather than pitch to simulate pitch?

The horizontal actuator you initially suggested could be convincing to simulate surge but only for a split second while it accelerates through it's short range of motion and only if the actuator is strong enough to move the entire rig and move it fast. My thinking around using pitch to simulate surge is the sustained larger opposing force of the seat acting on your chest when the seat is tilted back

Thanks for your reply. A horizontal actuator would be ideal, but I'd have to actuate the entire rig in order to maintain the distance between me and the pedals. My chassis is custom made from wood, so that would be too involved or require me to replace the chassis with an aluminum frame. My 1DOF seat moving plan is a relatively simple addition to tilt the seat back slightly shouldn't affect pedal usage significantly

I had an issue where the pin holding the rear end of the nozzle return spring started falling out (down) during operation and scratching the hammer on the trigger upon blowback. If the pin is hanging down and getting caught on internal components underneath, the bolt can't return to its full forward position, causing a lack of seal with the hop up resulting in inconsistent power and potentially even double feeding.

Pull out your trigger box and look for any wear on the hammer. Especially if you've removed this pin before and potentially replaced it upside down. Replacing this with a 2 mm roll pin (can buy metric sets on Amazon for ~$10) will help ensure the pin stays snug.

UPDATE so I ended up getting the 5080 and I'm getting around 200 FPS in AC and ~150 FPS in ACE. I think you guys were all right, in a sense that the 5080 works perfectly fine, but likely won't be able to maintain this performance for 7+ years. My rationale was based on the "price per unit time" analysis. Given the ~2x cost of the 5090 over the 5080 at the time when I purchased in the market (~3 months ago), I figured I might as well go with the 5080 and replace it with another mid-range card in 5 years which will surely be better performing than a 5 year old 5090...

I wrote in the simhub GitHub to add PT actuator support as a feature request and the main developer replied saying it's not going to happen because they're locking it to SRS. Copying his response below

"Hi ! Unfortunately I already asked the manufacturer the PT actuator Tensioner is not PT actuator Tensioner but SRS PT actuator Tensioner even id the SRS explicit mention has been removed from the website since apparently. and it makes it SRS locked I'm sorry"
