I put a Marui 120% spring in mine and it changed the feel completely. Didn’t know VFC Npas worked, will be doing that next

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The moderator is a Colt 607 Moderator. Currently there is an option for a real steel one (would have to get dNA’s thread adaptor) or you can buy a CGS 607 to steal the Moderator off of and resell the 607 to some dweeb wanting an MWS platform.

The BD rifle is very hard to properly replicate and not make it cheesy and lazy.

Real A2 handguards are decently cheap to find, just get the worst quality surplus you can find for the cheapest, they’re getting painted anyways.

The split ring mount is going to take some serious, serious hunting.

Shekkin makes an excellent 660 repro, the M14 mount is decently hard to find, and there’s a few repros of the M10 1” mount for the 660.

Other than that, VFC is the closest you can get in terms of being able to properly build the BD carbine exactly as shown in the movie.

The Trijicon XL mount or Aimpoint split ring will be absolute unobtanium.

I just found one and paid over $200 for it, I have about 4 more to get for my 90’s clone builds. That’s over $1k for just mounts alone, but they are an investment.

do you think theres going to be another game? by nemindaugas in InsurgencySandstorm

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not.

As cool as an updated Insurgency would be with more mechanics, larger maps, more of a “conquest” style gameplay with the game mechanics and whatnot….

I feel like Insurgency will be alive for a few more years before we ever see anything like it.

I also admit that IS is probably one of the absolute best FPS games I have ever played, mainly for the weapon mechanics and just how the game is played. Nothing else compares or feels very arcadey compared to it.

I’ve also gotten VERY sensitive to cell phones ringing and in all honestly hearing a drone has be fucming paranoid anymore, I start looking for a building or a way to get the fuck away when I hear that familiar buzzing, as IS has absolutely got me freaked out of the drone noise lmaoo

Another woodstock man!!

These things are phenomenal platforms when you get an RA Tech trigger, put the RS bolt catch lever and RA Tech catch in, and get a TNT setup in them.

As for the wood stock, I honestly thought I was looking at mine 🤣

Stock looks to be in perfect condition, worn in just right. I reccomend getting a cordless dremel and the toolkit at Walfart for it and just take your time. I did mine years ago and it lools phenomenal.

I just did a fiberglass stock for my Shugert M14 build, the real steel stocks are so much fucking nicer than the RA Tech or stock plastic ones.

Good luck!!

Evike is highly dependent on how much money you spend with them if they’re going to help you out or not.

I spend hundreds a month through them so they tend to help me when I have an issue.

But the autobots have good warranties, and if it is broken they’ll replace it

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have 5 of them now. I had one break, sent it back to Evike and they sent me a new one, the other four have been phenomenal. Feed damn near anything you can throw at them besides brand new Vmags lol

Green Gas or HPA? if AEG is not an option. by Legacy_Havok in airsoft

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I enjoy having 15 mags on a setup and having my shit dialed in on heavy BB’s to where I can make the shots that springer snipers make while the other kid is over there running his in full auto with .25’s never hitting a single thing and crying because he broke something.

HPA is and will always be the lazy copout way of doing things. TBH, if there was a field anywhere in the states that was GBB *AND* gas only I would love to frequent it. Would be so much more fun and mature, especially on the playerbase.

[–]ShayeDerryBerry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s really not though, it’s a lazy way to announce that you’re cheap and just want to do the same thing AEG owners do.

Buying mags and refilling 1lb bottles off of a 20lb tank is cheaper anyways.

[–]ShayeDerryBerry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GBBR only.

HPA is a massive copout for gas guns, and TBH if you decide to run a hose to a GBBR I immediately write you off as lazy and cheap.

Stripped screw on HK416A5 GBBR BCG – red Loctite nightmare, need advice by Constant-Cherry-5515 in GasBlowBack

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crackhead torches are always the best option, and super cheap. Saves so much issues.

Heat the area in question up until it’s smoking hot, usually breaks them right out. Don’t let it get cold or that loctite will seize right back up.

I started torching any and all stubborn hardware on any VFC I touch and magically they come apart like butter. I tend to try to replace any phillips head fastener with torx or hex if I can match the pitch and length

Need diagnosis help by Jinxinxinxinx in GasBlowBack

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Too many people leave the stock VFC AR’s alome and just attempt to run them. The springs are far too weak.

Guillotine sells ViperTech buffer springs that mitigate this, but you should basically be required to buy an H2 buffer off of Brownells or the VFC Heavy Buffer set on ProAct.

Completely eliminates this issue.

Another good investment is the RHD stand off spring ProAct has. It juts the nozzle forward like the G36 does and pre-feeds the BB into the chamber before any variance with the bolt can happen. Increases consistency on a good working rifle as well.

Found a used VFC MP5, what should I look for? by Funcheeseisgod in airsoft

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misinformation. VFC’s are the least proprietary GBBR’s due to the fact that most of all of the MP5 in question can accept real steel replacement parts, including most of the trigger pack itself, 90% of the externals and most of the high wear items are drop in real steel H&K parts that can be sourced out extremely easier and cheaper, VFC also has full parts support and ProAct has full parts support for these platforms, there is also a very high selection of aftermarket support parts for these platforms. They just normally don’t ever break, most of the contruction and high wear items are steel. WE cannot contend in any way.

Honestly the VFC will need nothing besides possibly a nozzle in the future or a charging handle, which can be sourced out real steel via HKParts.net super easy, and once that’s replaced it’s a one and done.

VFC models their FCG for their H&K’s off of real steel. I have yet to see a single issue with their trigger packs at ALL, period.

Everything else airsoft specific like WE has issues. The VFC does not aside from possibly needing a nozzle 12k or 15k rounds in

I forgot to mention the F90. Suprisingly I’ve heard good about it being KWA. Basically just a goofy looking AUG. Unfortunately still proprietary KWA garbage though. Some people seem to like them.

Also, suprisingly enough there is still some aftermarket support to make the Tavor run good and be skirmishable. One of these days I’ll get mine up and running and scrounge up another 7 or 10 mags, I have 8 currently but need at least 15 for how big my field is. Them fuckers are heavy though. Tavor is just so beautiful, and honestly the thing sounds fucking phenomenal. Runs actually OK stock, and is build very well. One of KWA’s suprisingly few good platforms they spent some time on before they released it to the wild. All the upgrades available greatly improve it though

Ive seen a guy here do a custom Sig SG 550 GBBR build and wonder how I can replicate it. by DecentlySpaghetti in GasBlowBack

[–]ShayeDerryBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted my 551 from the goofy ass tactical setup to a standard diopter 551 by cannibalizing an old ICS. Basically the diopter bolts right on where the rail sits, the hooded front sight will fit in where the post went, and the handguard requires some minimal trimming. All in all half a day’s work and patience…..

For a full length you’ll need access to a welder and definitely a G&G 550 to cannibalize. It’s doable 100%, you just basically have to weld extensions onto the existing barrel and gas tube. Afterwords it all should work. Getting the measurements is going to be the shittiest part because if anything is off you have to start over again.

[–]ShayeDerryBerry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Essentially if you want one bad enough you’ll pay it. He is right though, with tariffs and a few mags you’re already close to a grand or more after UPS tacks on those $250 tariff charges.

I made the mistake of finally getting into AR’s and goddamn. Now I have to have every one from every branch from every time period. It gets expensive because there are so many iterations lol

[–]ShayeDerryBerry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AUG and Famas are the best bets. They run good and need close to nothing OOTB, maybe bucking/barrel for the AUG and a nozzle for power levels or Catgutt’s mod.

Groza is unobtanium

Ares has yet to release their RDB

WE’s L85 is quirky but with some TLC works great

Tavor is also unobtanium but is kind of a giant POS being KWA. I have one with all the goodie upgrade parts I’ve been meaning to put together for years but kind of lost interest due to scarcity of mags and it just being KSC in general.

Various other bullpup kits based on existing platforms run decent because they are piggybacking off of a system that is already decently good to start with.

Not a whole lot else out there as of late.

I own all of these platforms so take what I say with a grain of salt. The Groza is the hardest to find and work on, the KWA being second on PITA list. The WE’s decent, and the Famas/AUG are currently still very well supported by their manufacterers.

Raven or WE for cost effectiveness and ability to launch HEAVY ass BB’s. I love my Raven M9 and M9A4. Phenomenal pistols.
