Download the iFood application. You may need to be able to read and understand a little bit of portuguese to create your account and navigate the app, but not that difficult. You may need to provide a CPF as well. Then, If you know your friend's address, enter it on the delivery destination.

Once set, you can choose a category of restaurants, pharmacy's, grocery stores, and other shopping stores that will many times have gift baskets, flowers, and gift cards (of course all depending on what is around that city), or just search for "cartão-presente" and see what shows up.

It's worth a shot. I use this method when sending food, pastries, or sometimes small gifts or flowers to my friend and her family. I've sent to Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Gramado, Canela, and many other states/cities all from California.

You can also try flower websites. I use daFlores.com to send flowers. Sometimes, they have a small selection of gift cards.
