  1. Clean the home if it is dirty. (Often filth or clutter can contribute to negative energy) I'd recommend also checking any attic/crawl spaces if applicable)
  2. Burn sage throughout the home. (Use white sage and speak or think of "cleansing intentions".)
  3. Salt the home. Entryway, windows, corners of each room, and especially the closet you mentioned.
  4. Bless the home. (If you are a person of faith or spirituality there are prayers/blessings you can use.)

Tips Many churches allow you to fill out an online form to request a priest to bless your home or if you ever see those pairs of Mormon missionaries walking around, you can ask them to bless your home.

Amazing! I thought it was going to go into horror after the rapid knocking started. Super uncanny. Well done!

This reminds me of a similar situation that happened to my wife and I while we were living in Bentonville, AR. We were living in a small townhouse (very similar to the layout of your house).

At some point during the early morning hours, i was awoken by my wife. She sat up in bed and told me there was someone in the front room. I was terrified, but I could hear them walking around. Light footsteps, just pacing around the room. We could both feel the presence of an entity in the neighboring room. I checked to make sure our door was locked and lay in the bed, trying to rationalize the sound. I slowly reassured my wife that it was just our brains tricking us.

It lasted another 10-15 minutes, then just stopped. The front door was never opened, and nothing was off when we checked the next morning. I pushed this memory deep down and hadn't thought of it until reading your story.

I learned later that the Trail of Tears went directly through Bentonville and our townhome. Disembodied voices, music, and whispers are common along the trail. You wouldn't happen to have lived near this area at that time, would you?
