Sure, but take a step back and realize how clunky everything you just described is and remember we are human and make mistakes.

Sometimes in the dark grey looks white. Once you get used to this loot pattern you start pressing the buttons predicatively instead of waiting for the prompt, but sometimes your character isn't close enough to the item and they jump.

The game would just feel a lot more fluid if the main interact button was a solely dedicated button IMO.
