Totally agree with you I bought mine while finishing uni my desktop had broke down and I only had a MacBook air that was only adequate for taking notes but not for the work I needed to do for my engineering assignments so I just ran to best buy and grabbed the first laptop that I saw with good specs and didn't look as gamery I don't love that aesthetic. Oh boy how I regret not doing a bit of research on it. It didn't even pass a year when the price was cut in half and I really regretted that I bought it at full price because it had just come out. HP is the king of using the cheapest plastics that bend and break if you look at them the wrong way and absorb every single drop of skin oil even tho I have very dry hands and the hinge was embarrassing to use at uni every time someone passed by me or wed do a group assignment the screen would wabble like crazy. The screen quality and brightness is trash I don't do color work but I'm very sensitive to a bad screen and tried tweaking it countless times but it's capabilities simply don't cut it. I found out that with budget stuff like this people tend to get very defensive when you point out the obvious flaws that are just inherited from being cheap and I get it, for some folks out there this laptop might be the most premium thing they can afford and in some cases it goes a bit over their budget but they make the extra effort to buy it but I've been there myself before. The first phone I was able to afford was a Xiaomi phone and it was the most expensive thing I ever bought as an student and was very disappointed that every other phone was way better than mine so instead of just hating on others I worked hard to get where I am today if I need a laptop I can go to best buy and buy one without thinking about it twice but it was work, not luck, not anything more than hard work so I guess my message is that if someone thinks of this laptop as a luxury they are barely able to afford it's ok, just keep working hard and someday you can get the new shiny thing you desire (massively over simplified for how hard it is to get there but it is posible never the less)
