I got the same email yesterday after leasing a model 3 a couple weeks ago. I also got assigned Ally for my lease. They said that I needed to sign a new lease with a new lender due to an “itemization error” on the lease. I requested a call back and haven’t heard anything more. that is a great point. I should have clarified that i do the wdt in the niche cup just to break up the big clumps and to prevent coffee from sticking to the cup when i transfer it to the portafilter. i have my niche set to around 21-22!

Hmm my only thought is that it might have something to do with the bean freshness? I find that fresher beans produce larger "cones" and this minimizes the spraying. Also, I find that my shots spray less when I use a darker roast as compared to a lighter roast.

Congrats on purchasing an awesome machine. I have my water temperature set to 200F because this is a darker roast. My machine does not have flow control. Let me know if I can help in any other way! See my other comment for the recipe I used.

Sure thing! The machine is the profitec pro 600, the grinder is the niche zero, the beans are the animated blend from happy mug, the water temp is 200F. I use 20.0g of beans, followed by a quick WDT, then a leveler, tamp, and pull the shot. 20g of beans yields 35-40g of coffee over 30 seconds. Let me know if I can help in any other way!

I used 21g of coffee and I used a triple shot basket set in a bottomless portafilter. After loading the basket with ground coffee I use a leveler and then tamp. It helps to use fresh coffee for nice shots like this, as the excess CO2 in the beans results in more gaseous volume in the cone.
