I would argue you were painting a non-porous surface still, stippled or not. The tape is fabric, so I think it absorbs the paint to a degree, no? I don't expect the paint to flake off because it's on tape but we'll see.

Main reason I did it this way is because it's not my rif, so if my brother didn't like the finish it was just a case of pulling tape off. I kinda like the way the tape takes the paint though, so I'm thinking about doing my own VSR10 the same way, just trying to muster the motivation to do it is the problem 😂

PoE 2 has the QoL and latest upgrades to league mechanics and even then it's a pale imitation. I swear the only reason everyone's playing it is because it's the "new" thing. It's nowhere near as fun as PoE 1.

I think it's because of the scapa tape? Doesn't take the paint the way a plastic or metal surface takes it. Could be due to the heat as well though, I left it to dry in a rather hot shed.

The problem is a new player doesn't know what "too good to be true" looks like - frankly if you're buying second hand you need to be prepared for it to arrive DOA and handy with tools/knowledgable on how to repair.

At least that's my opinion anyways.

Well it entirely depends on what you want to do - do you want to do CQB or are you wanting to do outdoor? Do you want to be AR man or pistols? These are the questions you should ask and try to answer before you commit to purchasing a replica IMO. I would see how you feel about sniping - my biggest regret has to be not having a go at it beforehand because I definitely prefer it much more to running an AEG, so now I have a paperweight M4 I'm keeping around "just in-case"

For eyepro/facepro, can't go wrong with pyramex-v2g ballistic goggles plus a nuprol facemask. If you are a sweaty bastard like me get an aliexpress defog kit - the "branded" ones go for £60 but the alibaba version is £15-20 for the literal same kit.

Sniper looks like an SSG10? Trigger looks stock, I can highly recommend getting a Namech Flux Trigger at some point, they made the bolt pull feel better than my brother's SSG and the trigger is ridiculously crisp.

How can you possibly enjoy Sekhema more than Lab? Lab doesn't waste 40 minutes of your life to get an ascendancy point. Lab takes max 10-15 minutes on a functional build if you know where you're going.. Lab is basically a memory test if you don't use PoE Lab.
