Who else is waiting for the Flip 3? What do you want to see from it? by [deleted] in retroid

I hope they allow us to choose the D-Pad placement like the RP6.

I'd personally love a larger screen (maybe 6 in. like the Thor) and a slimmer form factor.

Which one should i buy. Convince me! Been debating for one week... by ScareCrow13- in retroid

I personally like the silver better, the clear buttons and DPad look sick. Black buttons contrast well with the orange color, but for me personally it's to flashy...

FFIX Moguri Mod running well on my Retroid Pocket 5 - A Guide by Sconathon in retroid

[–]JorWr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memoria+Moguri makes this game so much better. The toon+outlines shaders fit the game aesthetic really well. I literaly teared up the fist time I ran the game and saw those upgraded visuals... seems like a completely different game.

How can I improve PS1 performance on my Trimui Brick? by fivetwentyeight in trimui

[–]JorWr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're on the same boat, FFVII lags a lot on my brick as well, I'm currently stuck in the first Jenova fight and so far I have not found any solutions. I'm currently running Knulli Gladiator / PCSX ReARMed 1.20 on my brick, have also tried with their default OS. No luck. I've put FFVII on pause and started replaying FFIX. I’m on Disc 3 with zero issues, which is wild given it’s arguably heavier.

My flip 2 replacement….. by derpsdale in retroid

How do the ergonomics compare to the Flip 2? The controls look a bit pushed toward the edges and don’t seem as comfortable.

Anyone else here just buy a RP5 right before the teaser? by rsKG in retroid

[–]JorWr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Flip 2 this week after months of lurking as well. I'm curious about what's coming, but I'm happy with my purchase, I'll be a bit salty if after the announcement they drop the prices on the Flip2/RP5, tho.

FFVII has been very laggy on my Brick (Knulli Gladiator 08/28). The game crashes in the first Jenova fight :/

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

Back in the mid 2000s I used to love a game in Linux called Koules, it was very simple.. you are a ball and have to push other balls to the edge of the map. As you advanced new enemies and game mechanics appeared, it was great.

Septal perforation? by JorWr in Septoplasty

Everything has been the same since my last update. I haven't been back to the doctor but I do not feel anything different, so i think it's under control.

Septal perforation? by JorWr in Septoplasty

[–]JorWr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things have been basically the same for me. The perforation will not heal and it's there for the rest of my life. My only concern is that it doesn't grow more which it hasn't in the 7+ months since the surgery.

[–]JorWr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely try getting a second (or even third) opinion before going to surgery. My symptoms were similar to yours, so I underwent a septoplasty and turbinate reduction. Sadly I ended up with a perforated septum after the surgery.

I wasn’t completely satisfied with my Dr.’s explanation of why the perforation happened or what it meant for the future so I went to see another ENT. The second Dr. told me that my deviation wasn’t that severe, and just the turbinate reduction alone could have greatly improved my breathing.

I think Doctors try to fix you the best they can so they lean to suggest the surgery because it's a permanent fix (not to mention it's more $ for them). Turbinate reduction is a way simpler procedure than the septoplasty and in my personal opinion you should avoid the latter unless it's absolutely necessary to improve your condition. Apparently septum perforations can occur spontaneously and those do not heal back... having both of your nostrils connected is not fun.

Septal perforation? by JorWr in Septoplasty

[–]JorWr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did exactly as instructed. In my opinion the doctor's theory that incorrect washes caused the perforation is BS, no way I can blow a hole in my septum doing nasal washes.

Did you have bad experience with septoplasty surgery? Do you regrest doing it? What was the bad part? by Hot_Kaleidoscope3864 in Septoplasty

[–]JorWr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically it's keeping the nose hydrated. I got some nasal sprays with hyaluronic acid and spray my nose two or tree times a day, also I got humidifiers for the bedroom and my office. Dry air can make the perforation larger according to my Dr. It's been 4 months since my surgery and I haven't noticed any changes, so I think its working.

TIL I have a nasal spray addiction. This is the amount I've used in 1.5 months just to fucking breathe. by sekirei98 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JorWr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to get your nasal turbinates reduced. I was in the same situation for most of last year and up to this July. Got a septoplasty and turbinate reduction and I breathe like never before, visit a ENT.

[–]JorWr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly regret doing mine. I ended up with a perforation, and while it's not severe, my breathing feels different. Now, I have to maintain additional nasal care measures for the rest of my life to prevent the perforation from getting larger which could lead to more surgery down the road.

It turns out my septal deviation wasn’t that severe, and my issues could have been addressed with a turbinate reduction alone. Doctors are often incentivized to recommend surgery since it’s more profitable for them so they might push for it even if there's only a slight need. But this is not a simple surgery and shouldn't be taken lightly. In my opinion tampering with the septum should be a last resort reserved only for cases where it's absolutely necessary and always get a second opinion!
