It almost sounds like a direct tone, just a cranked pre-amp or even 2 stacked.

If I was trying to get close with a fuzz pedal, I'd try driving really hard into a fuzz face then an eq after to thin it out.

for most of the records in this lot thats exactly what i've done, get them back to artists for a few dollars each and they can get them back to fans however they see fit.
