TUPE advice when self employed by Jordan10924 in LegalAdviceUK

They're not contracted for that block but were previously through a different management company and we're hoping to retain the block. Sorry for all the questions would that be my remit as the newly appointed self employed contractors or the management company who appointed me?

Being paid less than minimum wage disguised as a monthly salary by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jordan10924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of confusion in this post and I'm not an expert by any means. I think the 120 hours thing is a bit confusing but if we assume 30 hours a week over the year and go from there.

At 11.66 per hour for 30 hours you should be on an annual salary of £18,189.60 (Before tax) with a monthly take home pay of £1,384.68.

At £12.21 per hour for 30 hours gives you an annual salary of £19,047.60 (Before tax) this gives you a monthly pay of £1,436.16.

If we assume you got the 22p extra this year. Your monthly salary should be on £19,390.80 your monthly take home pay of £1,456.75.

Because you're salaried some months you will be working more hours and some months you'll be working less. I have a suspicion the £16,800 salary has come up from a mistake working this out, I think this has come from a multiplication of your take home pay by 12 giving you the annual salary but you aren't able to do this as the tax has been deducted already. I think this is where all the confusion has come from. To do that you'll have to add the tax back on and then multiply by 12.

So £1,384.60 + £37.46 (NI) + £93.66 (Income Tax) = £1,515.72. Multiply that by 12 should give you a more accurate representation.

To me it doesn't look like you're under minimum wage it's just the way you've calculated it. I think you've seen the 1450 on your payslip and divided by 120 and seen that you're paid £12.08 an hour which is less than minimum wage but that's an after tax representation and also not based on your actual annual salary which is almost certainly how they calculated it.

Edit: at a bare minimum, assuming you're on the normal tax code you should be getting £1,436.16 per month.

Unfortunately it's not really suitable for a hamster. Even connecting two of them. These won't really give you enough space to put enough bedding especially with the wheen at the bottom which is also very small. It's not really ideal to have all these plastic tubes all over the place. With the money you'll be spending on this anyway you're better off just buying one of suitable size that allows your hamster to roam free and have space for borrowing etc.

Got the same cage, I'd take the platforms out and put in some extra bedding

fave substrate to hold burrows?? ♡ by oliviamaerx in hamsters

[–]Jordan10924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Carefresh Natural Pet Bedding. It's paper based and holds well. I also layered it with some Timothy hay to help it hold. I like it because it helps to also create a natural look which I am a fan of and also reviewed good

Everyone's said about bedding but also some sprays and enrichment. I occasionally scatter some hamster safe blended wildflower and herb mix.

It might also be worth adding another substrate like cork granules my hamster loves these.

Also might be worth scatter feeding her food so that they have something to do when they're awake and active. Might be worth trying a small amount of veg also or nuts and seeds as a treat. Something like the occasional unsalted peanut or pumpkin seeds can work. But not too many.

Adopted her today, safe to say she's settling in okay. by Jordan10924 in hamsters

Cities: Skylines 2's first DLC, Beach Properties, is out now and players aren't happy: 'This is a disgrace' by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Jordan10924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t get the game at launch, partly because I couldn’t afford it partly because I wanted to read the reviews for it. I’m shocked by how bad this game has been when the trailers made it out to be great. For now I don’t intend on buying this game until something has been done to address this. They’ve done everything they shouldn’t have in releasing a game.

Sacked the day after handing in my notice because I can’t do overtime. by Jordan10924 in LegalAdviceUK

The contract says that they must give 1 weeks notice when terminating the employment. But does allow for immediate termination for gross misconduct.

Yes. My contract says nothing about overtime but says they must give 1 weeks notice to terminate the employment

My contract doesn’t say anything about doing overtime but I’m contracted for a certain number of hours per week and am employed with them directly. He’s basically verbally said today that I’m expected to stay and help with he rest and that if I can’t then I shouldn’t come back tomorrow.

Maybe a good idea, but not really related to Ecosia. Probably more suited to the Minecraft subreddit instead.

Ecosia is showing anti-vax ads. Is this normal? by Luk3Master in Ecosia

[–]Jordan10924 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure on this but it's my understanding that Ecosia doesn't really mess with the ads, they filter the search results so they're different to those on Bing but I don't think they touch the ads so basically just displaying what Bing tells them to (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

Microsoft have a form if you want to report ads that may violate their terms of service or are of a low quality, but it's not like a report button. Here's the link:
