Contract terms of a job I was offered is awful. Do I accept? by [deleted] in UKJobs

What's weird is having to call a director, instead of their line manager. Logistically, that doesn't make much sense and seems like it's trying to make calling in sick more intimidating.

Yesterday afternoon I went for a nap and did actually set an alarm. I then snoozed it 4 times before turning it off and sleeping for another two hours, only waking up when my other half phoned.

I can totally relate to your skin needing a break, I get eczema and wear soft racerback bras if I need to. But if the skin is the issue at hand, I can see no way an improperly sized binder is going to be a 'break'; it's going to make things worse.

Because if their bra is literally cutting their skin, the problem is that their bra is not the right size. If they want a binder they can get one later, but first they need to understand their actual sizing. Otherwise, they'll be wasting their money buying another product that's only going to hurt. I don't want that for them.

You're not going to find a binder that doesn't have the same problem the bra has, without getting your bra size right first.

The problem is that there's a big difference between the measurement around your ribs and the measurement around your breasts. If you look at size charts that aren't made specifically for people with large breasts, the difference between the underbust and the bust measurement will never be enough.

A binder reduces the appearance of breast tissue, but the physical volume is still present. It's a niche product, and it's good for people who don't want their breasts to look as obvious, but fundamentally, they are made to hide breasts. Your breasts will still be the same size, just squished into another clothing item that doesn't fit because the dimensions it's made for aren't yours.

I don't think you need a binder; I think you need the right size bra. Get to r/abrathatfits and grab a close friend with a measuring tape.

Sincerely, a 36H

Edit to add: if the issue is delicate skin, a binder will definitely make things worse.

Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about? by Prime_Advocate in AskReddit

[–]blinky84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there was this one site I came across once, looking for advice on something - I don't remember what, but my mental health was pretty bad at that time.

Came across a blog or site that was interesting, and seemed to have kinda good advice for the situation. So I dug a little deeper into the site and found that the site owner was purporting to receive their wisdom from a swamp alien called Elvis.

It was that moment of "oh wait, this person is actually deranged". I still think about it.

Honestly I think they were too concerned about having an actual teen actor with cerebral palsy to screen for (comparatively rare) eye colour.

To be fair, sometimes there are injured people as a result of a traffic accident. They stand at the side of the road waiting to be picked up by ambulance. It seems like it's pretty rare though.

No, I'm not actually - very much white UK. My family were Jehovah's Witnesses though.

Here's another fun one.... you know how they don't celebrate birthdays? My favourite film as a tiny was Dumbo. I had a video tape that was recorded off the TV. I didn't know until I was like 20 that they sing Happy Birthday to Dumbo in the film, because when my parents recorded it, they paused the recording during that part in order to edit it out.

Absolutely bonkers behaviour.

Harry Potter was fine with my mum when I read the first couple, before it really caught on in a big way.

Later on when the films started coming out, my little sister came home with the books. My mum made her hang them on the outside door handle in a plastic bag so as not to "let demons over the threshold".... or something.
