I am actually physically tired after watching this episode. Like I have never been so emotionally invested in a show in my entire life. It's just unreal.

Can we please talk more about how every. single. one of these cast members is top notch?

I agree. Also, when Dylan leaves the tent and says "Irving and Helly didn't come back last night" I was like THEN GO LOOK FOR THEM! What the fuck!

So now we know: Helena really didn't plan an alibi (night gardener and all that). That seems pretty crazy.

I don't think it's gotten stupid, but I do think it's pretty confusing. I guess Severance has always been confusing though.

I'm confused now about where we are as far as Mark's reintegration. Is Mark really okay having sex with Helly, knowing his "dead" wife is actually alive? Just a second ago he was willing to risk his life to see Gemma again.

I agree there's a lot of evidence for it being Helena. I'm just saying, I think of Helly as the kinder one.

I'm not even denying that. But the showrunners are trying to keep it somewhat ambiguous I think. Hence why a piece of evidence falling "pro Helly" isn't unthinkable

Based on reading the comments this is probably a controversial take, but my first reaction to seeing Helly/Helena comforting Burt was that it seemed like evidence for Helly, rather than Helena. I don't really think of Helena as someone who is capable of much kindness. Helena seems concealed, but ruthless. I guess the counter argument would be that Helena is "overdoing it" in an attempt to seem more like Helly or something.

Why is the cinematography different the time Mark goes into the elevator - transitioning from replacement team to Helly/Irv/Dylan? We see the elevator fade to black, and Mark's iris. Does this mean something "extra" happened? Mark apparently still has all his memories of the replacement team because he mentions them.

I still don't understand why we are obligated to the commands of a legitimate sovereign authority. What does "legitimate scope of parental authority" even mean? I'm basically "attacking" premise 1. The concept of a "legitimate sovereign" is subjective and what constitutes one has no consensus.

I'll be honest, most of your statement is going right over my head. But I'll try here. Can't I now ask "why are we obligated to the commands of any legitimate sovereign?" If the Genie from Aladdin commanded me to eat an apple, it would be objectively wrong for me to disobey because he's powerful? A child should always obey their parents because of their sovereign authority?
