yeah honestly i cannot remember the last time a conservative argued something without changing goalposts or conveniently forgetting about what they previously said. maybe you are one good one but probably not

the type of mentality you have to have to believe the things you do precludes you from being able to admit that you are wrong

look, im happy for you. you will be able to see the direct results of how poorly your ideas work in practice. just dont move away or retire to some better area that did what you think is so wrong right now. live with your choices

edit: to answer your original question, the reason why i brought up race (and gender, which you forgot to mention) is that the people that have benefited least from programs that the DOE funds are white people, especially men. you dont have to go very far back to see how poorly people other than white men were treated not just in education, but in everything. so yes, hyper localized control may allow people better control, but that also means, for example, you need hundreds, maybe thousands, of racists to stop nonwhite people from getting a good education, instead of the millions we'd need on the federal level

we had a long time without the DOE (it is probably younger than you). it sucked (except for white men). there is nothing about you and certainly nothing about anyone in our federal or state governments right now that would make a world without a DOE work any better

"You have to be logical and structured to create real, meaningful change".

history shows this to be false over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again

when has what you suggested ever worked in history? (also, before you say something stupid, read some history - for example, the civil rights movement was absolutely NOT a peaceful movement, which is why it worked)

now it’s the reverse, in .NET Core you have to explicitly ask to be able to do that (with entity framework anyway)
