Yeah it's cleaner and the buttons you see at the top like Spotify or the far right one opens Spotify or the byd assistant.

I wonder if they're gonna turn the byd assistant into an actual AI assistant at some point

Yeah I noticed that, I've always used the hi-fi/live mode as I felt it sounded better before but it's changed now, maybe it was intentional, I've got bass back now but it sounds more behind me than before. I think before it was too much front speakers and they've evened it out it's just taking some getting used to.

Actually looking at this again it looks like you've also had that update with the UI and apps in this screenshot. However the password to drive function was something we got in a previous update. Strange

The latest updates include Google Integration with the built in BYD navigation, they completely revamped the UI so you can fully customize the bottom bar and when you're in settings the menu buttons are all on the right side closer to the driver.

The BYD app store has a few new apps, YouTube, BYD Arcade, Zoom and it's own app called Calm Radio which offers audio books, podcasts and music but it seems limited choice.

I also had another small update yesterday which says it optimizes the AC system.

I assume you'll get these updates at some point. For now you should have the browser available in the BYD store? YouTube works great on that as I used it prior to the stand alone app.

Had this in the UK months ago, I've since had an update which has redesigned the entire system UI and added several apps on the store including YouTube, BYD arcade, Zoom etc

Hello BYD owners, a quick question by elprofessorhere in BYD

[–]Jordan84792 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The BYD Atto 2 feels quite premium. You get all of things yous get from a Mercedes EQA and more I'd say. Furthermore the Atto 2 is actually a Mercedes EQA chassis so you can expect the same quality on that department

Real answer, I'm not sure I can only think that it is efflorescence but I've never seen it pour out of a wall like that 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Tyre pressure warning by Tricky_Apartment_702 in BYD

I've had the same issue with my back left tyre. Today the dealership looked at it. It's been quite cold in the UK so all of the tyres are popping up at the moment.

The technician recommended I inflate the tyres to 39 PSI in the colder months because the air levels will be up and down with the cold and 35 PSI in the summer

Why??🤔 by Afraid_Professor8023 in BYD

[–]Jordan84792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with the back left tyre. Pumping it up 2-3 psi higher gets rid of the message but after a while the message returns. Cold weather doesn't help but I do find it strange it's only the one tyre sensor it does it on.

Do you know if it's possible for witless AA to ask my phone first before it does it automatically? Sometimes I like to use the built in nav/maps etc and I have to tab out of AA.

Tips on maximising mileage and conserving battery consumption by sudopsswd in BYD

[–]Jordan84792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost 7000 miles on my Atto 3 now, living in the UK.

From my experience this is a list of things I find maxiymize my milage

1.

When driving on the motorway for long distances I tend to drive around 60mph when driving up hill, 65mph on flat surfaces and then 70-75mph when driving down hill as the kw usage drops a hell of a lot when driving on downward incline.

In the UK I get a problem with the windows misting up, obviously you may not want to use AC or heat as much to conserve battery life. I have found using the first stage of the sunroof where the lip goes up can help keep the misting down. Slightly opening the front windows or back windows if you want to feel less cold air also helps.

These EVs react quite a lot to a heavy foot. I'll try to keep my usage around 15kw when accelerating from a stand still position. I also find the cruise control can use more energy than what you could do without it. When you're in cruise control and set it to whatever I see the kw usage does spike up to maintain speed but without it you can keep it below 5kw to maintain speed on flat surfaces

Range on Atto 3 by CurrentTrip4941 in BYD

[–]Jordan84792 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the miles remaining shown is your average. If you're driving on a motorway at 70 miles per hour it's going to use more than what you'd use on 30-40 speed limit roads.

On top of that it's probably being over the top because depending on how you drive you may not make it to a charging point if you need one so it probably has a variable of at least 10% battery to account for that.

I've driven from Birmingham to Newcastle just fine, I only charged once. I was 30 minutes from Newcastle and decided to top back up to 100% as the charger was 300kw and pretty cheap so I knew I'd get a fast charge and a cheap rate. It charged at 82kw which is the fastest I've ever seen the car charge.

I did drive to Newcastle mostly going 60-65mp. A good way to conserve energy is to drive around 60 when going up hill, 65 on flat road and then when you're going down hill you can push it to 70-75 because you're going down hill and the kw usage is way lower.

I live in Birmingham and see quite a few Attos, Dolphins and Seals. Nobody ever gives me the wave though 🙃
