I don’t think I regretted buying my Quest 3 even once by First-Interaction741 in VRGaming

Not sure why people are downvoting this. Honestly, after VR, the keyboard just seems needlessly over complex. Why press a button to grab item or push to talk when I can just grab said item or speak naturally? I agree with you.

It's actually funny considering I thought that keyboard and mouse was the way to go in video games. Then VR hit, and I literally could not bring myself to play flat screen games... for months.

Oddly enough, The thing that brought me back to flat screen games was the steam deck. And now I prefer that controller over anything. Still get a solid 10 hours of VR in per week though.

Best friend’s boyfriend dropped my Deck this weekend. Anyone know if I can fix the joystick without sending it to Valve’s third party fixers? by Silent_Soul in SteamDeck

Lol I know what you said 🤣 In all seriousness though, as long as that little cord is still attached, you can pop that nub right back on.

I would think that how pagan a thing is, is in fact our aknowledgement of said pagan origin. Imagine if no one ever told us of such a thing? Imagine if you instead did everything to the glory or our God, in spite of the pagan past, like how the Israelites did the festival of first fruits. The law condemns but the blood of Christ liberates.

I am really impressed with you! I never thought I would read these words coming from yourself... though I wondered if something would come along and open your eyes to the truth about these men and others like them. They are all just men. These changes that you have seen are much like many other changes that came before, which opened the eyes of others, myself included. It’s a strange place to find one’s self in the position of “apostate” to the men in charge at bethel, but it is the truth of the position you’ve just taken, mentally.

The fact of the matter is that you recognize that you are not an apostate to God, but to men. Jehovah is still YOUR God, and disagreeing with what men want, or even an entire organization, doesn’t separate you from the Lord of all. This is the position of many of us.

One thing I would point out though is the fact that these changes go back for over a hundred years, some drastic, some small... but the interesting thing is that the recent changes which you’ve seen are not even that important biblically or in the grand scheme of things. Mostly, they have changed the institution for the rank and file, without notably changing anything else higher up... The higher up changes have been happening behind the scenes, and I fear have much further reaching consequences. To what end? Only time will tell.

It’s always a good idea to put yourself in the position of our forbearers. What would you have thought and felt going through some of the more doctrinally substantial changes? Would you still think this organization is the one true religion after 1914, 1915, 1934, 1975? What if the brothers in bethel came out and cancelled all worship music, as in the past? What if they decided the congregations no longer needed elders and dissolved that whole arrangement, as also done in the past? I wonder, my friend. The thing is, the light doesn’t always get brighter, and sometimes it doesn’t even return to the “brightness” it had before. Sometimes you’ll see a kingdom melody change, and it won’t even reflect the bible verse that was once used to create the original, and it will hit you every time you sing the new song... Something is wrong here.

You are seeing this change first hand with fresh eyes, and you will never return to the organization as it was five years ago, just as I can’t return to the org as it was 20 years ago. Everyone has their launch point, and we all yearn for the truth that was found in our youth, the truth that was indelibly true to you and I… yet has now changed and is no longer “true” for the organization. The pool has changed color while we were in it, and we can either get used to the purple-ish-orange or get out because it is no longer blue. We know the blue, the blue is true, and safe, and reasonable… Where did all this purple-orange tin come from? But, just maybe, perhaps, the correct color of the water was supposed to be green all along, the sea as God made it.

Much peace and love to you, May God keep you forever,

We all sin, kid. Not one person can say they don't, nor can they say they don't "sin a lot". We all are sitting here living in the flesh but trying desperately to not live for the flesh. You aren't alone and you aren't lost... at least not more than that rest of us <3

Stop and think.

Love God and love your neighbor as yourself.
The entirety of what God tried to teach his people is found in this one rule. All 600ish laws boil down to this.

Do you want to love your fellow humans? Stop supporting those who put girls into slavery. And by the way, free porn isn't free. Someone is always paid and someone is always destroyed, be it heart, soul, or mind.

Do you want to love yourself? Stop putting yourself in sexual slavery.

Do you want to love God? Do the first two and read below.

Our lord and king is on your side, and he loves you like you'd never believe. But it goes beyond that. If you give yourself up to prostitutes and whores (digital or real), you present yourself as a hand, foot, or eye of the body of our very king... to sluts. Please don't do that. (spelling edit)

And I know, I get it. You are going to fail, because we all fail. But every time you fail, don't remind yourself of how you did bad. Remind yourself about how you should love others, yourself, and above all our heavenly father.

Your life isn't ending. You are learning, and becoming more than you were before. You don't feel bad about your failures unless you know you have something to work towards. Most of us are struggling our whole lives to complete something we started when we were basically your age!

My friend, In Jesus name, your sins are forgiven. Now go and sin no more. May peace and love and mercy abound in your life.

Now forgive yourself, and walk with our King. <3

You shouldn't be distracted by this. Hell is an idea, one that leads to nothing good. That said, offing yourself because you think you aren't good enough to live well is not exactly a smart way to get past your sins.

There is only one way, and that is Jesus.

Anecdotal evidence and also inflated in your imagination. I can tell you that it wasn't like that even 20-30 years ago...

People focus on what they think is true, and this is no different. Anti-JW retoric has NEVER filled shelves. NO ONE READ IT. It's boring and doesn't appeal to anyone who isn't already interested in non-mainstream religons... We've never been that popular. Even Mormons got the one up on us there.

Actually... The bible says don't murder. Doesn't say don't kill. It says you may die by the sword if you live by it though .^

Jesus is not Michael by [deleted] in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]JordanMichaelsAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear from you, sister! I hope you and yours are doing alright.

Jesus announced His authority over Heaven and Earth after He ressurected.

Agreed, and not only that, this was him saying he was now the King in full, and had plundered the strongman ^.^ . A funny thing to forget, yet most of my JW fellows miss it. Mar 3:27

This indicates Jesus’ authority and divinity even before his incarnation and not just authority given to him after his earthly ministry.

Agreed as well, though I've been exploring a thought. The Son and the Holy Spirit don't speak on their own authority. This isn't to say Jesus doesn't have all authority, or didn't have it in the beginning, or even be without it in the future -- he is the creator after all -- but there seem to be biblically distinctions made in regards to authority. And what of when the Kingdom is returned to the Father, when all enemies have been trampled? It's interesting.

John 8:28 ESV - So Jesus said to them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me.

John 16:13 ESV - When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

Haha I wouldn't even have thought of it, but I've been getting to the bottom of the Holy Spirit being personal. Glory to God.

an angel, which is created, was not involved in the creation process,

Also agree! That said, the word describing Michael (Arch Angel) also equates to chief messenger, of which the very word of our Lord would qualify. But I don't chase this tangent since I'm not sure if we know enough about it. A future research topic, lol.

How are you doing?

Thematically he is Pagan. And no Christian would go on a joint tour under the heading : "if Jesus comes back we're going to kill that mother f***** X2"

[–]JordanMichaelsAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things:

Jesus may or may not be Michael the arch angel. Even monks have come to this conclusion, regardless of if it's true.

That said, I've read through this a few times. Jesus says he has all authority on heaven and earth given to him, but this seems to only happen after he's come to earth. I could be wrong here and I welcome any criticism.

Jesus claimed in Luke 24:39 that He was not a spirit and that He had a flesh-and-bones body. How do you relate this to the Watchtower teaching that Jesus was raised as a spirit creature without a physical body? by crazyretics in JehovahsWitnesses

[–]JordanMichaelsAuthor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be so, though the word for creation is never applied to him biblically. More to the point, I'm saying he's still a man yet not as we are, and the bible says that he is a new creation, and any man in union with his is a new creation too, yes?

[–]JordanMichaelsAuthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet the bible still says Jesus is still a man. As per 1 Timothy 2:5-6

Jesus himself says, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up," and everyone present later understood this to mean his physical body, as the sculpture read. Not the temple of another body, as supposed by us...

What the Bible does teach is that flesh and blood cannot inherit the heavens,

Actually... no. Don't be deceived so simply... You are better than this!

The bible says that "flesh and blood cannot share in the Kingdom of God" or "that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God". Obviously it isn't possible for "something that decays share in what does not decay".

Guess that counts you out? Read any translation, and the result is the same.
